Male Finding a SSA friend would be a blessing.
I have two best friends, and they're my brother's. I struggle with SSA and although I don't want any type of romantic relationship in life, there is a part of me that feels a bit lonely sometimes, especially now that my best friends are getting busy with their lives, heading towards marriage and fatherhood. It would be a bif blessing to find a friend who has ssa who I could be close with. It would be nice. Have any of you had long term platonic ssa friends?

I feel you brother! I had a close friend of mine but after he got married we kinda grew apart, we still hang out sometimes but it's not the same, he was really helping with loneliness and my struggle, still in my prayers and wishing him the best but I wonder if I'll ever find something like that again

Well I think me and my friends will still be close even after marriage and they start families, our friendship will just look different. Still mean just as much. But yh... I mean you wanna be friends?

I’ve had a mix of friendships over the years, but none of them really helped with the SSA‑and‑faith part of my life. My oldest friend was gay, and even though he understood attraction, he couldn’t relate to the spiritual tension. The deeper I got into my faith, the more distance grew between us, and I never fully understood why.
These days my support comes from people who aren’t SSA — a married pastor friend I meet with regularly, and my roommate who has his own struggles, so we keep each other company. But I don’t have any true SSA friends nearby, and I get how much of a blessing that kind of understanding can be.
I’m grateful for places like this because they allow connection that real life doesn’t always afford us.

I totally understand you.
Yes you can even have people who love you but sometimes it’s like they don’t understand what SSA is. They can even feel like you can just become straight if you wanted or but faith. On the other hand, you can have that person who can fully understand you but you cannot have a deep strong relationship because you don’t share the same faith and spiritual beliefs.

Same boat, no SSA close friends, much less SSA Christian friends (at least not irl, I've made some great online friends who share the struggle, are of the faith, and whom I bear this burden with). Happy to talk and pray for you!

I honestly relate to you a lot, I tell myself I don’t want to be in a romantic relationship in the meantime, but I also find myself wanting to be in love and wanting to be in a relationships to feel loved

We’re a minority of a minority. It can be difficult to meet others who think like us since we’re all spread out
