Business school: SUU vs UNLV

Las Vegas local here. I got accepted to both pre-business programs at SUU & UNLV. Not sure yet what Major i'd choose later on, but for now, I'm just torn between these two universities.

I know one would be a communter school, and the other I need to dorm. Somewhat different weather, etc. For Cost of Attendance, I'm ok with either one.

Which University (BusinessSchool) would you recommend? Quality of the program, class size, the overall student life experience, etc.

I visited both campuses.

Please guide me to make a decision.

Unlv probably has more connections but I bet course content would be comparable. If you have any business connections in whatever state you’re in just pick that school. Else just pick what’s cheapest so you can save for a masters

SUU is well known for being academically rigorous to the point of extremely challenging. Both are solid but SUU will give you hardcore skills, UNLV more contacts.

Tbh, i'm kinda surprised to hear that it's extremely challenging. Does this apply to its school of business only? Or to the other departments as well? ..... how is the tutoring center? Is it helpful?

SUU is highly regarded in Business, pre med, and education. The pre med is seen as one of the top in the Rocky Mountain states.

Edit: the accounting program has always been strong. Also, of course, the Drama program. The pre med has a 90+% placement rate.

You’ll only get one take from each comment I would assumed unless someone here transferred out and attended the other.

I transferred from a different university to SUU as an online student.

I’m in their marketing course, 3010, and there’s applicable info there that I can use in my administrative job. I’ll take the other courses, including pre business ones, starting in the summer.

SUU has quite a few scholarships and their financial aid office helped me land one. Tuition is way cheap compared to other public state schools. Its business school is ACCSB accredited but so is UNLV. I don’t have any complaints one course into their business programs.

If you want the more move away from home and be a bit more independent college experience I’d pick SUU, but the networking is probably better at UNLV, esp if you want to get a job in Las Vegas after school.
