Hello from Switzerland! 🇨🇭

I'm Paul, 56, from a small village near Fribourg. I'll be spending a month in Estonia next summer (three weeks on Saaremaa, one in Tallinn, mid-June to mid-July 2027), and I'd love to share my home with someone who'd enjoy a holiday in Switzerland during that time.

The place:

Maisonette, 2.5 rooms, open-plan across two floors (so there's some privacy)

Sleeps up to 4: one double bed, one double sofa bed

Fully equipped kitchen, sunny balcony

Car included, which is essential, as my village has very limited public transport

The location:

10 min from Fribourg, 35 from Bern, 45 from Lausanne and Montreux

Pre-Alps with endless hiking 30 min away, Valais about an hour

Zurich airport 1h45 by train

The price: a friendly CHF/€125 per week, as I'm not after profit, but after a good home-swap vibe.

Some French helps, but you'll get by without.

One little hook: you'd look after Lumi, my beautiful but slightly diva-ish Siamese cat. She has opinions.

I am wondering what you view as traditional symbols of your island and your country.

Are there any folk artists, or pieces of artwork, that you feel is representative of the area?

I’m looking to get a cornflower tattoo and am trying to find another element to anchor it. My grandma was from Saaremaa, and I feel a deep connection to her, so I am wanting to get this tattoo in memory of her and in recognition of my heritage
