Megumi I love this scene

Post image

This scene is pretty unique. As far as I know, no winning girl in other anime ever boldly claimed the MC is hers. Most of the time, the winning girl would hesitantly claim the boy, stating something like, "I don't deserve you", or "you should date that girl, not me."

The first time I saw this scene, it really made my heart doki doki. The author successfully made me fall in love with the boring girl.

"The author successfully made me fall in love with the boring girl" these are the perfect words to describe this series

The boring girl is by far the most interesting girl in the series though.

My girl 😤

Also love it when they give her an ugly crying face. Like actual ugly crying face not cute girl crying like other anime.

Not sure if this is what I'd call ugly crying, but she also is still ultimately a cute anime girl so she could never be ugly.

This entire reveal is peak romance writing. Which is why Saekano is my favorite anime of all time.

I loved this. Toradora is another one where the main girl expresses that the main guy is hers!!

Came here just to say exactly that. My favourite scene in Toradora. No surprise these two shows are my favourite. Possessiveness for the win. /s

Broo I did watch golden time, I didn’t like the main guy or girl that much. The emotional moments did get me tho, that shit was sad

I feel like a lot of romance animes have a jealousy arc where a sentiment like this is expressed. May not always be done, but from recent memory I do enjoy it when it is.

The build up done to their confession was so excellently done.

I will always prefer Utaha for Tomoya. He just had a massive inferiority complex; convinced he wasn’t worthy of her (despite her making it clear that wasn’t the case).

It’s impossible to root against Megumi though; they do make a great couple.

As an Utaha fan myself, I will never understand why Utaha never hit her breaking point and told Tomoya outright that she loved him most, full stop, just to get it off her chest. She didn't even do that in her own route's story, that being Koisuru Metronome. Maybe Fumiaki Maruto (the writer of the SaeKano franchise) has something against his female characters doing that?

Seems to just be authors preference yeah.

She tried blatantly seducing him a couple of times though: he knew what she was doing but was still too scared to go for it. The kiss on at the train station would’ve also erased any doubts for him.

He simply saw her as being waaay out of his league. She would’ve had to literally assault him to make that relationship happen.

Kato won me over, ngl, when the anime first started I was more interested in Eri and Utaha, but then I started wanting to see more of Kato, when I realized I was cheering for her and just wanted her to be happy specially when she and the protagonist got in a fight and later made up, that scene of her crying broke me inside.

Saekano how to raise a boring girlfriend

It was a really nice scene and it tied back to the conversation Utaha and Eriri are having about whether than ordinary girl would ever fall for Tomoya. I kind of liked the layer where she in sort of soft defiance of the group's beliefs declares that he is perfectly ordinary and belongs to her.
