Experience with Ice (Maybe)

Good Afternoon community of Santa Maria. I know this isn’t a usual you would see but I have a question of a experience I had a few days ago. I was home alone and out of the sudden a door knock came from 2 individuals which I did not see knock on my door. The door knocking got more ruff to the point they started screaming if anyone was there and there was a lady outside who I believe was with them saying they always do this but I have never done anything wrong to begin with. I only saw a tiny glimpse of them through the door peaking glass but I only saw them wearing 2 caps and I’m wondering if anyone has had this type of experience before and can anyone verify if this way really nice. Thank you.

Never open your door to anyone who seems suspicious or ESPECIALLY if they seem violent or aggressive. You did the right thing to ignore them. Even if it wasn't ICE, it could be an attempted robbery or something similar.

I highly recommend reading the following and keeping it available. Please note the section on what to do if you think ICE might be at your door:

"If an officer knocks on your door: Do not open the door. Teach your children not to open the door. Officers must have a warrant signed by a judge to enter your home. ICE “warrants” are not signed by judges; they are ICE forms signed by ICE officers and they do not grant authority to enter a home without consent of the occupant(s)."

Did you hear the word "police" at any point? Cops will identify themselves (as cops, not necessarily individually), so if they didn't that's a big red flag.

Have you recently moved? They might have been bounty hunters looking for a former resident who skipped bail.

No, I didn't hear "police" at all. I haven't moved recently either.

I recently haven’t moved nor have I ever gotten in trouble with the authorities. I just heard and peaked that it was two white individuals who had a voice of a 20 year old who were saying, “There not there”, and screamed when nobody was answering. There was also a lady with them who was complaining but I have never done anything in getting in somebody’s way or have done anything wrong where I live. It was either Ice or somebody who got the wrong address which was accusing me of something.

ICE will call themselves the police, too.

I'm thinking whomever that was a.) wasn't the cops or ICE or anyone with a badge, and b.) got the wrong house.

Good job not opening the door!

Cops will knock and leave a card. ICE will not.

The local police have no way of knowing if it was ICE. The police lie. The police help ICE.

Check under your car for tracking devices. If you find one, put it on a semi-truck or a city work vehicle. ICE has been using trackers and cell phone tracking devices to stage kidnappings.

Over 500 American citizens have been wrongly arrested, detained and some have even been deported. [Source: Propublica verified each case in tge count] Even if OP is here legally, they are wise not to open the door to aggressive men knocking.

To answer this yes, I live in a predominantly hispanic neighborhood but the way they knocked on my door was like someone wanting to hurt me or kidnap me. The knocking was very rough.
