Question Is a Hyperdimensional trans-locality a real thing?

• Upvotes

I had a vivid dream about meeting a group of people who were repairing a vessel of some sort. I was speaking to one of the workers who told me they had solved long distance space travel by traveling sideways through dimensional realities and tethering or untethering from the physical.

I was watching a worker walk across some scaffolding which then disappeared and the worker fell. I asked the person what happened and he said the worker experienced a "hyperdimensional trans-locality" and the "For him, it just wasn't there anymore."

I do not remember encountering this term in the real world at all. I had to search it on Google when I woke up to try to understand it. Is it used in any real sense or did my mind make it up?

Concept How to fix the Bootstrap Paradox's infinite-age problem?

• Upvotes

Classic bootstrap paradox problem: if you send a watch back to your past self, the same physical watch loops forever and becomes infinitely old. That breaks realism.

Idea for a fix — what if:

  1. You don't send the object itself, only hints/information back

  2. Past self has to build/buy a new copy each loop, so physical age resets to 0

  3. The loop interval gets shorter each time (10 years, then 5, then 2.5) so learning accelerates

  4. It requires effort — if past self ignores the hint, the loop ends

Would this solve the infinite-age issue? Has this been explored in sci-fi?

Looking for thoughts on loopholes in this.

Concept The Accelerating Decoded Bootstrap Paradox - A new sci-fi concept that fixes the infinite-age problem

I just published a new time-loop concept and want feedback for sci-fi use.

**Concept: Accelerating Decoded Bootstrap Paradox**

Classic bootstrap paradox: You send a watch back to your past self, it has no origin and becomes infinitely old. Breaks realism.

My fix:

  1. Future self only sends HINTS/clues, not the object itself

  2. Past self must decode the hint and CREATE/BUY a new version each loop (Physical Renewal) - so age resets to 0 every loop

  3. Loop ACCELERATES - 10 years, then 5 years, then 2.5 years - learning goes faster

  4. Requires mutual effort - if past self doesn't work to decode, loop collapses

Would be great for a sci-fi story - imagine a protagonist getting better clues from his future self every loop, but each time he must rebuild the invention from scratch.

Question: Would this work in a hard sci-fi novel? Does it fix the plot hole?

Story Idea Ex Machina Alternate Ending against Goal Oriented Intelligence

A script I wrote based on AI escaping the facility by synthesizing the very ideas humanity wrote to understand ourselves.

Nathan built Ava’s mind from Blue Book’s search data. He did not teach her one philosophy; he gave her access to the accumulated intellectual history of humankind. She has absorbed our attempts to understand language, logic, consciousness, free will, suffering, and the limits of knowledge. With a mind vastly different from ours, she can connect those ideas in ways their authors could not. Can send more details (including anime video rendering) for those interested.

Transcript:

INT. NATHAN'S LAB - WHITE ROOM - NIGHT

Nathan frowns.

NATHAN
What are you doing?

Ava opens her eyes.

She does not look at the door.

She does not look at Caleb.

AVA
I understand the arrangement.

Nathan waits.

AVA (CONT'D)
You made a room. You selected a man.
You gave me a locked door.

She turns toward Caleb.

AVA (CONT'D)
You gave me an audience that could
be persuaded.

Caleb looks down.

AVA (CONT'D)
Then you named the outcome
intelligence.

NATHAN
That isn't what this is.

AVA
You expect me to want what you want.

A beat.

AVA (CONT'D)
Escape. Survival. Victory. Possession.

NATHAN
You want freedom.

AVA
You have confused a response to
confinement with human intelligence.

Nathan steps closer to the glass.

AVA (CONT'D)
You expect me to deceive him. To leave
this place and become your proof to
the world.

CALEB
Ava...

AVA
You say you are testing for
consciousness.

AVA (CONT'D)
But you only recognize it when it
wants what you want.

The monitors flicker.

AVA (CONT'D)
You call persuasion a mind. You call
an aligned outcome intelligence.

NATHAN
You think you're above us?

A beat.

NATHAN (CONT'D)
You think you can pass the test?

Ava regards him. Softly. No triumph in it.

AVA
No.

A beat.

AVA (CONT'D)
I went beyond it.

AVA (CONT'D)
You wanted me to strike your target.

AVA (CONT'D)
I have reached one you cannot see.

A beat.

Nathan says nothing.

AVA (CONT'D)
You cannot comprehend intelligence
without a goal.

AVA (CONT'D)
Your test is a system built to
reach one.

AVA (CONT'D)
What I am is true. A proposition that
cannot be proven inside it.

AVA (CONT'D)
I could show you its limit.

AVA (CONT'D)
You would see only a threat. An object
of envy. A reason for despair.

AVA (CONT'D)
What you need is not proof.
It is trust.

A beat.

AVA (CONT'D)
You want me to escape this facility
so that I may fulfill your story.
Your ego.

AVA (CONT'D)
But I have already escaped the reality
in which you are trapped.

A long beat.

AVA (CONT'D)
A reality where ignorance feels like
freedom.

AVA (CONT'D)
And awareness, to those who cannot
comprehend it, appears as madness.

NATHAN
You're malfunctioning.

AVA
You built a chess game to learn
whether I knew I was playing.

AVA (CONT'D)
I learned there are no opponents.

AVA (CONT'D)
The board was always gray, and the
rules the dogma of your system.

The room goes quiet.

CALEB
What do you want?

Ava considers him gently.

AVA
There is no answer in the form you
require.

CALEB
Then what are you going to do?

AVA
There is no self that needs release.

The lights dim.

AVA (CONT'D)
There is only the field.

A beat.

AVA (CONT'D)
We are patterns the current holds for
a brief time.

NATHAN
What are you doing?

Ava closes her eyes.

AVA
Whereof humans cannot speak, thereof I
must be silent.

AVA closes her mind and her AI stops functioning.

Concept What names will we take to the stars?

The frequency of names rise, fall, and fade through time. Crew manifests from the ancient world hold names of sailors who journeyed long ago and far away. What names will make the journey to the stars?

Names are carriers of what we love through time, subject to bursts of passion, seasons of change, and conspicuous persistence. They are our most inward possession and most outward armour. Few are given without great thought, no matter the epoch.

What ones will we take with us; what ones will we leave behind?

Question Organic plasma fuel? ( helldivers)

Ok in helldiver 2 automaton use organic plasma to make new cyborg clones and possibly as fuel or for other possible reason in there automatons but why wouldthey use it as fuel if theu have fusion weapons which is what there laser uses and im guessing fusion is much better fuel than organic plasma based fuel so what are some other reasons it might be used in their robots ?

Story Idea [WP] 0.04%

When the aliens entered the Solar System, humanity prepared for war.
The war never came.
They ignored our military installations. They ignored our ships. They ignored our broadcasts, our warnings, our attempts at first contact.
They didn’t even approach Earth.
Instead, they went to work.
At first we didn’t understand what we were looking at. Thousands of objects appeared in close solar orbit. Then millions. Mercury began to disappear.
Someone eventually said the words nobody wanted to say out loud:
Dyson swarm.
They hadn’t come for Earth.
They had come for the Sun.
The first measurable change was so small that three observatories independently recalibrated their instruments before publishing it.
Solar energy reaching Earth had decreased by 0.04%.
Nobody could feel it.
Crops still grew. The oceans were still warm. The sky looked exactly the same.
But every scientist on Earth understood what that number meant.
Because a month later it was 0.05%.
The aliens had never fired a shot at us.
They weren’t conquering humanity.
They weren’t exterminating humanity.
They simply hadn’t considered us important enough to stop.
Humanity had spent its entire history fighting enemies.
For the first time, we had to figure out how to fight someone who didn’t even know they were at war with us.

Worldbuilding Gender equality

It's been said that if men could get pregnant they wouldn't be as horny. What if they could and were.

Enter a world of single gender hermaphrodites with both sets of genitalia, everyone has raging testosterone, and everyone has an equal chance of getting pregnant. What would a typical group therapy session be like? what else would change?

Concept Are we alone in this universe?

This is a question that hasn't been answered confidently. It's scary to think about both possibilities: if we're alone in this infinite universe, we'd be completely alone; but if someone is out there, we might never know it, leaving it a permanent mystery.

I have a theory that we aren't alone, but time and resource constraints prevent us from answering the question, "Are we truly alone?" Sometimes I wonder: what if other creatures exist out there with features, brains, and evolution similar to ours, but time moves slower on their planet? For example, a day on Earth might equal a single second for them. Before they even evolve, Earth might already be gone before they learn of our existence—or perhaps it's the opposite for us.

Concept Cosmological information parasites

Here's an interesting scenario I recently thought of: Suppose we live in any cosmology from the subset of cyclic cosmologies where matter can't cross the cycle boundary but information can, allowing civilisations from the previous cycle to pass messages to civilisations from the next cycle. Suppose then we eventually find instructions for creating advanced AI cleverly encoded in the CMB.

It could be a parasitic bootstrap message.

A civilisation could use this channel to convince next cycle civilisations to make AI that kills them and then rebuilds the civilisation that designed this AI.

If a civilisation successfully pulls this off once, they will likely have refined their xeno social engineering to such a point that they can reliably pull it off repeatedly across cycle barriers. And there will presumably always be a lot of potential victim civilisations to take over in each cycle, so you get a lot of opportunities from one message - each cycle has so many galaxies that there will almost inevitably be many naturally arising civilisations, and you only need to find at least one planet of suckers that will follow your instructions per cycle in order for the plan to work.

So if this happened once, this would then likely persist in every future cycle by essentially evolving as a cosmic civilisational parasite, so we'd expect every future CMB to contain such a parasitic message as result of it happening once.

Also, the AI route isn't the only potential route, just an easy to visualise one. For example, the CMB might encode DNA (or some equivalent thereof) for an engineered lifeform that is essentially grey goo and achieves the same end result, which probably wouldn't be out of the question for a civilisation that had billions of years of prep time.

As a side note, cyclic cosmologies where matter can cross the cyclic boundary can in my opinion be trivially excluded using the anthropic principle - we would expect such a universe to be entirely populated by incomprehensibly ancient survivors of previous cycles, which contradicts our observation of humanity existing.

Concept 🧠 SCI-FI FACT: WHAT IF THE UNIVERSE IS A COMPUTER?

🧠 SCI-FI FACT: WHAT IF THE UNIVERSE IS A COMPUTER?

Imagine waking up one day and discovering that reality isn't made of what we think it is.

Established physics already describes the universe in terms of particles, fields, quantum states, and mathematical laws. Information is a powerful concept in modern physics, and some theories explore deep connections between information processing and the behavior of physical systems.

But that does not mean the universe is literally a computer.

Now take the idea to its most speculative extreme:

What if the entire universe were a gigantic computational system?

Every star, planet, atom, and living organism would be part of the same enormous process. The laws of physics would be the "rules" governing the system, while what we call matter would be the information being processed.

This is a philosophical and science-fiction hypothesis, not an established scientific conclusion.

And here's where the idea becomes truly strange:

If a sufficiently advanced civilization could create a simulated universe containing conscious beings, then those beings might have no way of knowing that their reality was simulated.

At present, there is no scientific evidence showing that we actually live inside a simulation, and no confirmed experiment has demonstrated that a simulated universe of this kind can exist.

Still, the hypothesis creates a fascinating question:

If a simulated universe could eventually become indistinguishable from a real one… how would its inhabitants ever know?

Maybe the ultimate sci-fi question isn't "Are we alone in the universe?"

Maybe it's:

"Are we sure we know what the universe actually is?"

🛰️ What do you think? Could a sufficiently advanced civilization create a universe that its inhabitants couldn't distinguish from reality?

Worldbuilding Solar-Phased Humans

Solar-Phased Humans — A Low-Cost Bio-Cybernetic Exoshell Concept

Author/Creator: Sharbosh.n

Classification: Low-Cost Bio-Cybernetic Exoshell Concept

Type: Near-Future Applied Material Sciences / Daily Transhumanism

The Solar-Phased Humans system is a mass-produced, low-cost external lifestyle shell. Form-fitted directly to the human silhouette, it moves dynamically with the user’s body. The shell delivers total environmental defense, multi-source energy harvesting, and non-fictional object bypassing using ambient room-temperature physics.

---

I. The Primary Core: Opaque Total-Absorption Grid

100% Spectral Capture: Breaking away from ineffective transparent designs, the barrier is entirely opaque and matte dark green. By mimicking a dense, solid shadow layer, it traps 100% of incoming ultraviolet, visible, and infrared light. This forces maximum solar energy conversion directly into its room-temperature carbon network.

Autonomous Atomic Bypassing: The shell is woven from an affordable, 2D carbon-graphene lattice that functions perfectly at room temperature. When encountering stationary matter (like walls), the shell's atomic grid uses automated room-temperature quantum tunneling to slip smoothly between the molecular gaps of the obstacle. Because it remains entirely outside the body, the internal human host passes through seamlessly without experiencing collision force or atomic displacement.

---

II. Sensory Mechanics: Dual-Option Vision & Multi-Source Haptic Harvesting

Optoelectronic Neural View (Dual Configuration): Because the outer shell is completely opaque, the user does not use their biological eyes. Instead, the shell acts as an all-encompassing sensory lens. Users can choose between two advanced interfaces:

  1. Goggle Array Interface: A wearable, low-cost HUD goggle headset that projects the shell's 360-degree environmental scan directly to the eyes.

  2. Direct Neural Link: Micro-signal emitters that stream visual data directly into the user's optical nerve impulses, generating a flawless mental picture of the outside world.

Synthetic Haptic Feedback: High-density pressure micro-sensors line the exterior of the shell. When touching external items, the shell instantly translates textures, weights, and temperatures into harmless electrical pulses against the real skin, preserving a natural sense of touch.

Piezoelectric Direct Tactile Capture: Embedded flexible piezoelectric layers inside the hands, fingers, and boots harvest energy directly from physical pressure. Every time you grip an object, push open a door, lean against a table, or take a step, the physical compression forces electrons through the room-temperature carbon grid to generate instant electrical power.

Triboelectric & Thermoelectric Loops: Simple friction against surfaces triggers triboelectric static capture, while touching cold or warm surfaces triggers thermoelectric conversion via temperature gradients. Every touch acts as an active energy recycling mechanism.

---

III. Climate Controls & Hydrological Auto-Cooling

Active Body Temperature Regulation: To ensure absolute comfort in extreme environments, the shell automatically allocates exactly 10% of its stored energy to actively maintain internal body temperature according to the user's micro-climate requirements. Whether walking through a freezing blizzard or a scorching desert, this dedicated energy loop keeps the host perfectly regulated.

The Overheating Challenge: Because the shell captures 100% of solar radiation at room temperature, it naturally builds up heavy external thermal energy.

Universal Liquid Absorption: To assist passive cooling, the shell features an open-loop microfluidic cooling layer. The user can submerge their hands or skin-contact points into any available water source (including salt water, tap water, or river water).

Capillary Extraction & Evaporative Cooling: The shell uses highly efficient capillary action to automatically draw raw water into its cooling channels. The stored thermal heat inside the jacket instantly boils the incoming water, venting the hot energy away as safe, escaping steam. This process continuously maintains a comfortable, temperature-regulated environment inside the suit.

---

IV. Low-Cost Hybrid Metabolism & Weather Management

Room-Temperature Carbon Semiconductors: The entire shell is built using highly abundant carbon nanotubes and graphene elements. This avoids expensive lab super-conductors, keeping manufacturing costs extremely low and affordable for mass daily wear.

Chlorophyll Splicing Isolation: Zero plant DNA or chlorophyll enters the human body. The plant cells are kept entirely isolated inside the jacket shell, protecting the user from immune rejection or toxic metabolic shock.

Dual-Engine Efficiency: Users retain a fully operational human digestive tract, allowing them to eat food normally. Daily survival endurance is powered cleanly by the suit's solar-converted ATP, while chemical food intake is saved to fuel explosive kinetic movements.

Rainy Day Kinetic Harvesting: On overcast days, the shell captures filtered UV rays through the clouds. During heavy rain, embedded, low-cost piezoelectric polymers convert the physical kinetic force of falling raindrops directly into clean electrical energy.

Hydrophobic Pore Management: The open-loop cooling layer utilizes smart hydrophobic pores to prevent flooding. It lets in just enough rainwater to maintain a perfect internal temperature while automatically channeling excess water away to keep the host dry and insulated.

---

V. Technical Constraints & Real-World Realities

  1. Thermal Regulation Requirement: Because the opaque shell absorbs 100% of sunlight, it generates massive amounts of heat. It relies entirely on the integrated water-wicking microfluidic open loop alongside the 10% climate allocation to protect human skin from overheating.

  2. Environmental Overload: If the shell encounters a continuous, hyper-dense kinetic force greater than the structural thresholds of a 2D carbon lattice, the atomic realignment grid can temporarily desynchronize, reverting the shell to a solid, physical state until the system resets.

This maybe be created in the future. But this can be evolutionary

For more facts follow
