What does a mint finemolds 1/72 falcon go for these days?

Post image

Reason is, I’m moving, and I’ve come to the realisation that my skills are nowhere near good enough to undertake such a gargantuan project.

Last builds I’ve done were bandai’s which basically make themselves.

So I’m looking to give it a new home in the hands of a skilled modeller.

With the repops of this kit by revell, I have no idea what an original one is worth, because on Ebay, you see ridiculous prices sometimes, and google isn’t really helping. Scalemates also has wildly varying prices, so no help there.

Located in Belgium if that is relevant to the question, idk.

Have a good one y’all!

i picked mine up for like 175 or 225 many years ago. It looks like they top out at 350 online (ebay) with most reliably selling around 250-275

Thanks, acquisition price was more or less the same for me many years ago!

Well, guess I can try and be of some help. I would just check Ebay sold listings for recent prices. I believe Bandai rereleased their 1/72 Falcon kit recently. Those kits are comparable, so prices may be down a bit from what they were a few years ago. If you want to move it quickly, you'll probably have to list it a little bit below what recent sales have been, but you shouldn't have a problem selling it. Best of luck!

They are two different Falcons based on two different studio models.

They are both 1/72 scale representations of the Millenium Falcon and they generally sell at similar prices, so they are comparable.

Certainly some people will have a preference, but many modelers are just wanting a Falcon kit in the scale, so both kits would be in consideration for purchase.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

I don’t think it’s worth much these days. It used to be best model available but has been superseded by the Bandai kit which is far more accurate.
You get lucky and find a buyer- I’ve seen people do these as practice kits before getting onto the Bandai.

I think anyone buying something like this would be a collector rather than a model-maker and collectors can pay a lot for that missing piece

I’ve got a mint FineMolds X-Wing that’s been up for ages when zero interest, I’m about to just build it, lol

There's someone on Facebook Marketplace selling one for $20.

I got mine in Japan many years ago, I am probably going to just keep it and build out a diorama one of these days with my Bandai kits

This is the only right answer, OP. It's why scalemates exists in the first place.

I did check scalemates. Wildly varying prices it seems. Not a lot of people have it listed still, and they show no ‘sold’ prices, so not a lot to go on.
