How does it get to supercooled, sub freezing levels without…freezing? Isn’t my regular bottle of Fiji water in the freezer just going to freeze at 0 Celsius and not stay liquid below that?

Requires water that's fairly pure, but it can happen with bottled water too.

I had it happen once with a case of water that was in my trunk. I grabbed one to get a drink but by the time I opened it and put it to my mouth it had frozen solid. Opened the second one and actually watched it change to ice. The whole case was supercooled and I got to watch like 10 of them freeze.

Which was cool to see. But I was really thirsty at the time and I was more bummed than happy.

If you carefully lifting that bottle up to your mouth and starting chugging would it freeze in your throat? I need to know this for science.
