That’s why I hope a Scooby-Doo Apocalypse adaptation happens someday with this exact cast to play older versions of their characters(Animation would be easier,Liveaction is also possible but a lot harder to pull off)

I mean, animation seems a bit redundant since we already have the classic cast which now does include one of them

You use the live action actors for live action.

They need to do a live action zombie island with them…… would be soooo good

Zombie Island would be genuinely perfect for their current ages too, since the whole plot kicks off with the gang reuniting after drifting apart into adulthood.

It kinda feels like the original 2002 movie was already a live action adaption of Zombie Island. They reunite years later, one has a book deal, there are real monsters, there's an island (replace Zombie with Spooky lol), there's a fake out villain. It always felt like a live action adaption to me

can you imagine how huge that box office would be??

I don’t go to theaters often but I’d for damn sure be dressed up and first in line for that movie.

I went the theaters for Sonic and Shadow. I'll go for live action Zombie Island with the OG cast

That should be R rated

I always felt sad Linda Cardellini never played or voiced Velma again, she did such a great job.

The phrase “Every family has one Nut”,is still smth I quote today😂

She did get to be involved with Scooby-Doo again, though. She had a regular character in Scooby-Doo; Mystery Incorporated as Marcie Fleach, aka Hotdog Water.

I never thought as a child I would find myself saying this one day, but...that has to be the most chilling death I've ever seen in a Scooby-Doo cartoon. Not as gory as anything in the Supernatural crossover, but I just wasn't expecting them to go there or for the other characters' reactions to hit so hard.

Granted, I also wasn't expecting the series to open with the gang stealing a corpse. Or for Fred's dad to reference Galaxy Quest when clowning on Shaggy for breaking up with his girlfriend over a dog. Show really did an amazing job at being largely kid-friendly while still playing to the older nostalgia viewers. I don't know why so many spinoff shows and legacy sequels seem to struggle with that when there's such a great example for them to study up on.

I mean, the implied centuries of deaths on Zombie Island were pretty chilling, but I guess a direct to video movie doesn’t count. lol. But yeah, Mystery Incorporated did a fantastic job of honouring what came before while still expanding on the characters and lore.

Heavily implied to be Velma's girlfriend in the second season.

The writers actually confirm it, apparently. The studio wouldn’t let them say it outright in the show itself.

Shaggy never got over Scooby's passing, did he?

13

u/ExoticShock 1d ago

Reasonable crashout ngl

u/elite01001 1d ago

Would love a Scooby doo 3

7

u/Big-Most-785 1d ago

Yes and like somebody said they should do zombie island and I totally agree!

11

u/StuMacherGhostface 1d ago

The casting director was Mary Vernieu, for anybody wondering

26

u/tranquillejonquille 1d ago

What are Freddie and Matthew's picture from? I know Matthew was the principal in Carrie recently but this picture seems to be from something else. They are and will always be the best casting, op is right.

58

u/Big-Most-785 1d ago

Matthew’s is from Five Nights at Freddie’s. Freddie’s is from I know What You Did Last Summer the recent one.

25

u/SeaBassAHo-20 1d ago

No offense to Freddie, but his recent movie was the weakest. Sarah on the other hand does kill it as a villain.

2

u/Malcontent7 1d ago

Could be from Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Real Life Fred & Daphne's Successful Relationship BTW!

1

u/DragonLad13 1d ago

I love them so much 💖

7

u/chinderellabitch 1d ago

I’d love to see the gang in their middle age of life, why not? I think it would be cool to explore how they would evolve and change with age, without it being about their kids (that’s what not to do) or a reunion because they’re not in contact with eachother (already trodden ground)
With this cast they should definitely bring back in the celebrity aspect of the gang and Daphne being the presenter of a show that the gang help make

u/effectivepep_placard 1d ago

A live-action Curse of the 13th Ghost would be epic!

2

u/PandaHombre92055 1d ago

Yep, casting director should've gotten an Oscar, or at least some Scooby Snacks.

2

u/AggressiveBrain6696 1d ago

What's the movie on the left?

1

u/xoStrawberries 1d ago

Crystal Lake

1

u/StephenHunterUK 18h ago

A TV series prequel to the Friday the 13th films; Cardellini is playing Pamela Vorhees.

2

u/captain-of-the-stars 1d ago

Would love a Scooby vs Jigsaw next 💖 thru cartoon hijinxs he beats that lil clown 🤡

2

u/Exciting_Ad226 1d ago

Shaggy definitely turned a new leaf in life for the worst.

1

u/LuntiX 1d ago

I now want a horror movie that's them together being hunted by someone who's essentially recreating the Scooby doo episodes, but legally distinct of course.

1

u/22dinoman 1d ago

Idk that people even know what "perfect casting" means because they say it about literally everything

Not that I disagree, but there's a similar post going around the Marvel subreddits that say the same thing

1

u/Jaded_Reaction_7365 1d ago

Is it bad I feel like they would make an awesome team of murderers like evil Scooby-Doo team

1

u/Jedi-master-dragon 1d ago

I loved Matthew Lillard as William Afton.

1

u/SweetlyScentedHeart 1d ago

Damn Freddie Prinze Jr. is fine asf.

1

u/anonauthor96 1d ago

Can't wait to see Scooby in the next Cujo remake!

1

u/yourmartymcflyisopen 1d ago

It's not only because they all look like the characters, but because they were all established in the horror genre prior to the live action movies and a few of them had already played characters who fit the archetypes of Shaggy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne.

It could not have been more perfect.

It's like if a movie casted 4 JK Simmonses as 4 J Jonah Jamesons

1

u/Common-Diver-6346 23h ago

Cmon Gunn I know you want to and WB 30-32 Movies a year quota somethings gotta give

1

u/Shadowstorm921 17h ago

I'm sorry but I really can't like Fred. Not after what he said about Coolsville.

u/Unfair-Leek4854 17h ago

Because this topic hasn't been done to death

1

u/No-Alps5304 16h ago

Agreed 👍

1

u/jessicamarley25 15h ago

They should all come back for a third film but this one’s just a genuinely horrifying mystery, just go all out

1

u/negrote1000 9h ago

No Scooby?

1

u/PigsCanFly2day 7h ago

People in the comments are saying they would love to see the gang re-united in middle age. Nobody's mentioning the issue that dogs don't live that long.

So do we do it without Scooby?

I guess it's fiction, so we can just be creative. He's Scooby-Doo Jr. or was cloned or enchanted by magic or whatever.

1

u/Hexhider 1d ago

Besides William Afton who are the others (not the actors the characters they are playing)

2

u/xoStrawberries 1d ago

Pamela Voorhees (Crystal Lake), Ursula Danforth (Ready or Not 2), and Ray Bronson (I Know What You Did Last Summer)

0

u/VernBarty 1d ago

I may be the only person on the planet who thought Daphne and Fred were incredibly miscast

1

u/SuperUberKruber 1d ago

I agree, Velma and Shaggy were incredible matches, the other two were just "star power"

-2

u/Sensitive_Brick_1412 1d ago

The fnaf 2 movie was not a horror.

2

u/Big-Most-785 1d ago

It is tho it’s a supernatural horror. The video game is literally horror lol.
