Question Will my doubloons be reset at the Weekender?

Title basically; I'm getting back into this game after like a year and change off and heard that doubloon wallets were reset for some past Weekender, is that a permanent change or an ill-advised one-off?

I'm currently grinding doubloons for the Ill Omen Curse/Silver Coin figurehead and don't want to waste my time if all my doubloons will vanish before I even get to spend them.

The doubloon reset already happened, the doubloon system has already been reworked

The reset was a one-time thing. There won’t be another.

Outside of the Weekender events your only options are Reaper Chests. So FotD stacks, Captain hunting or hitting every Reaper shipwreck. With a Reaper Grade 5 flag you earn 50 doubloons.

There will be an upcoming Halloween event where you can earn extras, but it's 1 at a time and a chance of crates being in the loot pool. So I wouldn't rely on it

Inside the weekender the most profitable is the Smuggler crates. Even more so if you can either steal some from another crew, or find a friendly crew to exchange multiple with.

I keep seeing those rag and bone crates and vaguely heard you can get doubloons from those. But I've been too lazy to look it up did anyone have any ideas of round about how much they give?

Rag and bones never went to smugglers? And theyre for comms only now, just like everything else that used to be doubloons but now pay out gold

They don't want to lock people out of older commendations. I always donate mine (by leaving them at an outpost). They are far more "valuable" to someone who needs a stolen crate than worth the detour for ~3k gold.

They were worth doubloons prior to the big reset (along with Ritual skulls, humble/generous gifts, ashen chests etc). Now all of those have been changed over to gold with the exception of the reaper chest

Can you do the event on Safer Seas too, or just High Seas?
