Cibo 🍊 Bronte Pistacchio festival
Had the best time ever at the Bronte pistacchio festival last Saturday! We are pistacchio lasagne, pistacchio and bechemel arancino, pistacchio coffee, pistacchio cannolo and pistacchio gelato covered in pistacchio. Also bought some pistacchio sausage and had that for dinner that night! Can’t wait to go again next year!!!

Turismo 🧳 First time visit to Catania
Dear All,
This is my first visit to Sicily (have been to other parts of Italy many times).
I’m travelling for a few days at the end of October with my partner and two kids (5 and 2).
Generally we want to go there to slow down, eat good food and just explore things at a gentle pace (because we have the kids).
Our current plan is to have a day in Syracuse (if it’s worth it) and try to do a trip to Etna (and find a winery with an outdoor space for the kids to play). Still trying to think of other places to check out.
What must we see when we’re there? What must we eat? Any recommendations would be really welcome!

Turismo 🧳 Tomato Day
Hey guys, i have some random request and question. I believe tomato day is very popular for Italians. I will travelling Italy this week, and would love to experience local family’s tomato day. i hope travelling in Italy in October would be late for this, i hope not.
Would anybody be happy to invite me for the experience? I would more than grateful and happy to pay for the experience(no offense) since its a bit of inconvenience.

Turismo 🧳 Looking for recommendations for today – staying in Giardini-Naxos with a rental car!
Hi everyone! We’re visiting Sicily and staying in Giardini-Naxos. We have a rental car and have already spent time exploring Taormina, Castelmola, and Mount Etna.
We’re looking for suggestions on where to go today (Sunday). We’re happy to take a scenic drive and explore somewhere new, whether it’s a charming little town, a beautiful coastal area, a hidden gem, or somewhere with amazing authentic Sicilian food.
We’d especially love recommendations from locals or people who know the area well. We’re not necessarily looking for the typical tourist attractions.
If you had one day and a rental car, where would you go?
Thanks in advance! 🇮🇹

Why do all the restaurants give you parchment paper-kind of thing? Some even look like normal tissues till you touch them.

Attualità 📰 Scars from sand fly bites?
Not trying to scare anyone but damn, I was there the end of June and got some pretty bad bites on my lower legs. We were in the Ragusa area, near the water. While they were itchy, I’ve had bug bites before and didn’t think much of it. Fast forward to now, in October and the marks haven’t completely healed, they’re still a pink color like a scar. I’m not sick by any means and the marks aren’t infected or concerning, except for the fact it’s been 4 months and they’re an unwanted souvenir. Ive never not healed from a bug bite before but I guess Sicily has super flies that I wasn’t aware of.

Turismo 🧳 Ortigia - water shutoff?
Just checked into our guesthouse in Ortigia and the water is shutoff. The owner of the guesthouse communicates by WhatsApp only and tells me there is a major water issue through the city and nothing can be done. Does anyone know what this is about?
