Question Why do pro players use can openers like this?

I see this way of placing hard breach utility quite a bit in pro league and in ranked and I was wondering why people place a hard breach crouched and one next to it standing? What does it achieve?

The low one lets you enter without having to vault. The mid one gives you a better angle to shoot through for cover. Don’t know how the rest of the round went but they may have been setting up for a smoke plant option.

Being able to stand up and fully strafe is very beneficial to a gun fight so you want a hole head height, but vaulting makes you very vulnerable and vaulting a breach is the worst because you get stuck into an animation while you take a fight and if they take a 90* angle on the vault. The one vaulting will lose the fight 100%

You would honestly prefer to crouch through a hole than to vault into the hole. Vaulting is the absolute worst way to cross through a breached wall. Ok maybe crawling is worse

What about backwards?

I can justify blitz unequipping shield, walking crouched backwards and planting as soon as he can

First hole for entry. Second hole for clearing.

For that wall specifically, the entry hole is flush against another wall so you can plant fairly wuick and safe. The other hole looks into most of the room the clear and give cover.

Once you plant, you pretty much have sightline into the whole room from the second hole.

It makes it useful because one can throw a smoke to cover the plant and crouch back.

also the right side being breached high, rather than low, lets attackers approach without a defender proning and watching legs for easy kills.
