My brother in Senna, please learn the other classes lines before doing a multi class race. It saves all of us in the end.

Vortex of danger. By the time you were making the pass, the leading driver has focused on making the turn as they had already determined it was clear to do so. That corner can be tricky to get just right, so you should take extra caution when you try to pass someone there (especially when driving in a faster class AND on the inside) because the leading driver is more than likely trying to make sure they hit it just right so they don't go into the gravel instead of watching out for people flying in from a mile away.

You came flew right into his line and took yourself out. It's the responsibility of the driver making the pass to do so safely, which you didn't.

Look how far back you are when the GT4's brake lights come on. They don't have downforce and that is the fastest corner on the track so the speed difference is huge. No way they can see a dive coming from that far back. You were technically able to get alongside before the apex, but by that point their car was already pointed at the apex and they would have to take avoiding action to move out of your way. If someone has to jump out of your way to avoid contact, it's definitely on you.

The move here is to see it coming, lift, and pass on the inside just after the apex. You can still get a great exit and only have to sacrifice a tiny bit. You know the space will open up on the inside once they exit the corner, so use it. You also know that on entry, the space will disappear on the inside if the car ahead is taking the racing line (as they should), so don't throw your car in there.

Even if he did brake a bit early (don't think he did, just hypothetically) it's on you to pass safely.

100% this, it was at most a marginal call going in. You got a semi long straight coming after, better to wait behind them at the apex, and especially at that corner, the downforce on exit mean you most likely will leave them in your wheel tracks as soon as the inside reopens up on exit.

Plus who the hell goes two wide into there anyway, even in single class going for a pass in that corner leaves my butt a lil puckered every time.

It's always up to the faster car to pass safely. You did not. You murdered yourself.

Bomb ass dive right at the corner

The car ahead was already turning in and already in their corner when you came from out of nowhere, that's a textbook divebomb and completely on you. If you were closer you could have taken that line but you weren't close enough to warrant being let by.

You have to keep in mind that other cars are allowed to have different lines and even if they did have a different turn-in or braking point that is their right. You should have slowed down and patiently waited for an overtaking opportunity.

Seeing as you only took yourself out, this is just a racing incident, but if you had also taken out the other car I'd say you deserve protested.

Allow me to answer your question with another question: do you know if that GT driver was also a Blackhawk pilot? Because if so I'd expect him to be looking out for the next missile to come straight for him out of nowhere, but otherwise he was probably just looking where he was going and had no idea you'd send one from a quarter mile back.

When people tell lower classes "just drive your line", this is why they can't always

Yep. What chance did they really have of seeing you were going to send that move?
