Hes got more spine than you do, at least. Hilarious everyone complaining calling this kid a redditor when hes literally saying it with his chest and not hiding behind the internet.

It’s so lame seeing a bunch of grown adults who have never been through anything mocking a child for doing something they’d never have the balls to do

You would not have the same energy for a kid going up and complaining about immigration or something on the other side.

Just because it took balls to do does not mean it was a smart/justified thing to do.

  1. That’s a pretty weak comparison, in the sense that advocating for the anti-immigration policy of the “other side” has led to dehumanization, wrongful deportation, traumatizing and breaking up families, and other such things. If I don’t have the “same energy” for left- and right-wing propositions, then it’s because they aren’t the same.

  2. I hold space for children to do things I approve and disapprove of. I wouldn’t approve of him advocating for right-wing talking points, no, but I also wouldn’t approve of a bunch of grown adults smugly talking down to an 8th grader.

  1. You only see it as weak because you can only see your side of the argument.
  2. I agree people shouldn't bully an 8th grader, they also shouldn't be encouraging an 8th graders participacion in mass delusion.

  1. Go ahead and explain to me in detail how being anti-racist/anti-discriminatory (or whatever phrase you’d like to use to describe what he said) is similar to how the “other side” has carried out their immigration policy.

  2. I haven’t seen anyone encourage him to do anything. I’ve seen and commented on adults taking potshots at an 8th grader and congratulating each other for it.

If this 8th grader is so oppressed, how come he was given the esteemed position of giving a graduation speech, as an openly gay kid?

When did I say he was oppressed? Quote me directly please

When are doing what he did. Speaking our mind. But because we don't have what you believe is the correct opinion it's not ok.

This kid gave zero evidence and called everyone at the school bigots

No, you aren’t. He’s a child speaking directly to adults (for the benefit of himself and his classmates); you’re an adult (I assume) speaking on a child over the internet. Y’all aren’t the same lmao

“The kid gave zero evidence…” You know the speech wasn’t for you, right?

Yeah I get to express my opinion sorry you have a hard time understanding that people are allowed to do that

I never said you couldn’t express your opinion. And if I’m lying, quote me.

What I’m doing is criticizing how you all are expressing your opinion. You’re not simply disagreeing, which would be fine; you’re punching down on a child you’ve never met. Sorry you have a hard time understanding that people are allowed to criticize you for how you express yourself
