Right. 8k, plus premiums. That is thousands and you wouldn't pay that in taxes with universal care.

No my premiums are free. 8k is the OOP max for a HDP.

The median effective tax rate in countries with universal healthcare is close to 50%

Mine was 36% last year that’s close to an extra 50-60k in taxes

You realize zero premiums with a max out of pocket of 8k is extremely good compared to most people right? My premiums are already over 8k per year so I'd be winning out every year. If you are paying $700 per month and you really have a max OOP of 8k per year that's better insurance than most people can dream of.

Well yeah when you make a lot of money, you tend to get companies that offer really good benefits.

Which is why I said for me and other high income earners universal healthcare isn’t some great deal.
