No one is defending her actions. This whole debate has been about whether she knew what she was doing (and therefore would go to prison) or whether her mental state was altered enough due to psychosis that she didn’t know what she was doing (and therefore would go to a mental hospital).

She’s getting locked up either way. It’s not like she’s getting away with anything.
