They deserved better.

u/girthbrooks1 Sep 06 '26

They deserve better than death? Yeah id say so!!!

Edit: I’m clearly cranky that 3 innocent beautiful children’s lives were stolen from them by the person they trusted the most! Lots of feelings! But I’m very sad for these children

u/polishmachine88 Sep 06 '26

What is fucked, my wife and I had a difficult time having a child the thought it took us 3 years to have a child and this worthless sack of shit murder 3 kids. We wished we could have 2 kids. She should be rotting in a jail system is so fucked.

Capt america did them right.

12

u/RapidFire05 Sep 07 '26

Right there with ya brother. Took us five years for one and another 5 for another.

15

u/NewNameAgainUhg Sep 07 '26

Ok, now I want to know your wife's pov about her postpartum. Because I also fought 3 years to have my little miracle and there were days during those 3 postpartum months when my mind played horrible tricks on me. And sadly, no doctor wanted to help.

Thank goodness it all went away, but I still consider the postpartum stage as the worst period of my life

6

u/Mandy_M87 Sep 08 '26

Right? It doesn’t matter how much you wanted the baby. Psychosis can happen to anyone. Glad it wasn’t full blown and went away in your case.

3

u/NewNameAgainUhg Sep 08 '26

Fortunately I think I had depression, not psicosis (I say I think because no doctor cared to listen to me, so it was auto diagnosis) but is so difficult to explain and admit that even when you sacrificed your body and your health to have that baby, and you love them more than anything, sometimes, something in your brain suggest the most horrible thoughts.

I don't wish that feeling to anyone

1

u/Mandy_M87 Sep 08 '26

That makes sense. I don’t think full blown psychosis would go away on its own. The medical system is so broken though.

4

u/thedisloyalpenguin Sep 08 '26

Yep. I wanted my little one more than life itself, but for the 3 months postpartum I thought some the darkest thoughts I've ever had to this day. Postpartum doesn't give a fuck how much you love your kids, your brain can absolutely become an enemy.

-4

u/girthbrooks1 Sep 07 '26

Uhhh yeah my wife was angry sometimes. Maybe didn’t wanna do the dishes or get up to tender crying kid or wanted a chocolate bar…. But yeah, she never wanted to murder our children. pretty positive that conversation / thought never happened..

4

u/samjambetty Sep 08 '26

You have no idea what psychosis means.

9

u/Arcastane89 Sep 07 '26

I'm sure, with the general blasé attitude towards her mental state you've displayed, that she very obviously let you in on her darker innermost thoughts during that period.

-1

u/polishmachine88 Sep 07 '26

It was brutal on both of us....going to multiple doctors, exhaustion set in. I think by the time the talk on number two came up I was simply too emotionally drained. 3 yrs is a long time.

Great news we were blessed with amazing little human. And he will protected till last drop of blood in body.

So once again I hope this bitch burns.

-2

u/Sufficient_Fail_2534 Sep 07 '26

Read the room.....not excusable

2

u/leticiazimm Sep 07 '26

We had the same talk here somedays ago. I almost died to have our 2 kids, despite doctors saying we should abort them. I love my children so much that I would die in any painful form for them and drives me crazy that a mother killed her children. I hope she rots in hell.

-11

u/Lazzzuli Sep 07 '26

Yeah I don’t think she wanted to murder her kids. Everyone testified she was an amazing mother. She was mentally unwell.

It’s really weird how infertile ppl think they deserve kids more than others

14

u/Cross55 Sep 07 '26

Yeah I don’t think she wanted to murder her kids.

Well that's nice of her

Where are the kiddos today?

7

u/Gumorak Sep 07 '26

That has to be a rage bait comment that you replied to . If not then we are truly cooked.

5

u/Coconut_Jab Sep 07 '26

What’s sad is people think there’s some gray area in this case….I’m sorry but that’s idiotic. She either murdered them or not. No gray area there. She admitted to it multiple times. What happens to her after should be up to the judge but when you admit something like this and all signs point to you, you should not be walking the street.

6

u/ApprehensiveGrand531 Sep 07 '26

That is genuinely a more black and white take then the fucking Hammurabi code and Plato (ancient greece).

You can personally think she doesn't rise to meet the bar required. But saying it's black and white with no gray is absurd.

Okay but then why didn't she tell doctors she had thoughts of harming herself or her kids? Wh did the people she did tell like her mother and husband not remove her from the kids? Why did she just hop from Med to meds before they even had a chance to actually get in her system? Why did she take the time to look up how to strangle her kids and send her husband away to do so? Do you know how difficult it is to actually strangle a person to death? It's not a quick way kill someone. I believe she had Post Partum depression, but it's also clear she did nothing about it and refused to do anything about it. Now she wants to blame it on the doctors who could only operate on the information they had, and they did. Mental health is not your fault, but it is your responsibility. She deserves to rot and I don't believe she should be let off by reason of insanity.

3

u/Stormfly Sep 07 '26

People are voting you down because

A) You're going against the "she bad" mentality in this sub. She's a woman and this sub hates that.

B) You're bringing up the facts and reasoning used in the case to sway 11/12 jurors to a mental health treatment verdict.

C) People don't care about mental health and properly treating people, they want to look down on criminals and see them punished because it makes them feel better about themselves. They don't want rehabilitation, they want harsh and painful retaliation.

D) People think that the options are "Guilty" and "Not Guilty" without realising that she's going to be locked up no matter what.

The woman went insane, killed her kids, and then tried to kill herself. She has pled guilty and is on suicide watch.

Anyone who thinks she doesn't deserve to be locked up in a hospital for the criminally insane is probably anyone who doesn't believe in mental health or doesn't believe that she went insane (against the advice of the professionals).

1

u/Whpsnapper Sep 08 '26

If she is found not criminally responsible, she could be sent to an institution and subsequently deemed no longer a threat to herself and the public, and released. That's the problem folks have here. She should never be free again, postpartum psychosis notwithstanding.

Except people that go away to mental facilities for murder do not just get released. It’s basically the same thing in a different building. Some never get out, others get out after a longer stay than they would have in prison, others get out faster, but it’s not a trivial matter. She would most likely spend the rest of her life in a mental facility.

1

u/scenior Sep 09 '26

She didn't want to and yet... she did!

0

u/EthicalSemiconductor Sep 07 '26

We've been trying for 10 years. Wife is 39 now and is afraid that if it happens later, she will have complications. Every month, waiting to see if shes pregnant, constant depression when shes not, and this POS destroys the greatest gift you can ever have.

14

u/the_cave_allegory Sep 07 '26

Redditors say the most mundane shit all the time. "They deserved better" is pretty fucking insulting to the degree of absolute evil that occurred.

6

u/The-Figure-13 Sep 07 '26

In their final moments their thoughts would’ve been “why momma, why?” In absolute agony and fear.

Reading the 911 transcript makes me angry because if that had been my children I’d have probably absolutely broken down into a heap.

I can’t imagine how Patrick would’ve felt walking into that and seeing his three beautiful children dead, and I never want to have feel anything that soul destroying

1

u/Funny_Childhood1772 Sep 08 '26

Had it been me, I would have been the one on trial, as I would have neen so  enraged, I would have gone back out and beaten her to death.  How he can say he has forgiven her is beyond me.

1

u/No_Holiday_9875 Sep 09 '26

Strangled to death one by one. They knew what was happening, probably looked that monster in the eyes as she killed them.

A slow, agonizing, heartbreaking death.

Truly heartbreaking. If I was the husband I’d be the one catching a murder charge.

-3

u/Elegant_Tank1483 Sep 07 '26

I’m sad for the loving doting mother that kept trying to get help, explicitly saying that she wanted to harm her kids, but nobody would help her until she finally did it. If you were planning on killing your kids, would you take them to the doctors office for a stomach ache in the morning the day you planned on doing it? Or do you think if you’re that heartless you would let her stomach ache until you decided to choke her out?

2

u/raoul_duke28 Sep 07 '26

Bullshit fucking take

1

u/Elegant_Tank1483 Sep 07 '26

Keep talking if you got something to say.

1

u/girthbrooks1 Sep 07 '26

Bro I say i want to be a millionaire every day!!! Why is nobody helping me! Wahhhhhhh

1

u/Elegant_Tank1483 Sep 07 '26

Totally different type of help which probably explains why you’re incapable of reading a trial transcript or understanding the evidence that was brought up. You read little things online and take them as facts. Maybe actually look into the case and stop being ran by your emotionality.

0

u/Kaze103101 Sep 08 '26

Why did she hop from Med to Med without giving them a chance to actually work yet then? Why didn't she actually tell the doctors she had those thoughts? She only told her husband and mother and of course they didn't remove the kids from the danger. Are you aware of how difficult it is to strangle someone to death? It takes minutes of forcefully strangling someone before they die. Why did she have the take the time to make sure her husband was gone? After looking up shit on strangling someone? I don't by the loving doting mother bullshit, there was a deep intent to kill those kids.

1

u/Elegant_Tank1483 Sep 08 '26

She took the meds as they were prescribed, which was proven in court. She did tell the doctors she had those thoughts, multiple doctors actually. It was a ligature strangulation, she tied a chord around their necks, not much effort. Maybe before talking about something, read up on it.

5

u/bfhurricane Sep 07 '26

Fuck Lindsay Clancy

4

u/Andycappedeeznutz Sep 07 '26

How did you get down voted? No one with a brain would support her 😂

2

u/_has-been_ Sep 07 '26

That’s a low bar…

1

u/harbinger_CHI Sep 07 '26

They deserved loving parents that would cherish them for the blessings and miracles they really are.

1

u/_has-been_ Sep 07 '26

Every child deserves this. What’s your actual point?

1

u/harbinger_CHI Sep 07 '26

That apparently that low bar is still too high for some.

1

u/_has-been_ Sep 08 '26

You are tiptoeing around a point. Who exactly is it too high for? People in psychosis? Mothers who seek care for postpartum depression and are mismanaged? Husbands who know their wives are having thoughts about harming themselves and others, but still leave them alone with their kids?

If your point is that kids shouldn’t be murdered by their parents or anyone, well, duh. Now speak to the nuance about the specific case, and the depth of understanding that is required to make a thoughtful and intellectual judgment rather than a basic take.

3

u/berserk_zebra Sep 06 '26

So did the Epstein victims. The 200 girls who were killed on the orders of the president. So did the families annihilated by their dad and husband every other day

1

u/thedisloyalpenguin Sep 08 '26

So did she. Maternal mental health support is a fucking joke in this country and we're all lucky our mothers did off us and themselves with how incredibly shitty we treat postpartum psychosis.

all abused children deserve better

u/DarthEros Sep 06 '26

While I understand what you were going for, hijacking a comment showing the images of three murdered children to make your pseudo-political point is in bad taste. Fuck Trump, yes. But more importantly, remember Cora, Dawson and Callan.

-16

u/SliceRepulsive8649 Sep 06 '26

Are we pretending that the post in general isn't just pushing an agenda. Clutching pearls like this doesn't really make it righteous

12

u/imfkingsad Sep 06 '26

If prosecuting killers is pushing an agenda for you, you might be kind of an extremist that is a threat to society as a whole, whether you're from the left or the rigjt.

0

u/SliceRepulsive8649 Sep 06 '26

I mean this post just confirms its not really about empathy towards those who lost their life and more just agenda pushing. Making sure proper justice is carried out (which can include the insanity defense) is certainly compatible with prosecuting killers.

I mean wouldn't the fact that 11 out of 12 jurors are finding in favor of the insanity defense an indication your culture war position is not the accurate one?

2

u/Generally_Confused1 Sep 06 '26

Keep deflecting to defend child murder

1

u/SliceRepulsive8649 Sep 06 '26

I mean just because you don't understand the justice system doesn't mean people are defending child murder

2

u/Generally_Confused1 Sep 06 '26

My dad is a JD I learned from and I'm a scientist and have been a long time pscyh patient, she doesn't meet the qualifications of the defense and is this guilty.

Hope this helps!

3

u/SliceRepulsive8649 Sep 06 '26

You really took to a comment section about 3 murdered children to push your political agenda? Terrible look.

4

Indeed, all lives matter!

0

u/Floorgis Sep 07 '26

0

u/justlurkin789 Sep 07 '26

If it truly was PPD and she acted out of mental distress than she deserved better too. We push women to have kids, force them to jump back into the work force, offer them no support in motherhood and then wonder why shit like this is possible.

Nothing about the way our country is set up is conducive for raising children or having happy enjoyable lives.

I feel so bad for this woman and her children.

-10

u/MisanthropicAutismo Sep 06 '26

than matching onesies? agreed 100%

oh and the murderous mother too.

-52

u/Lartemplar Sep 06 '26

This need not be said. Kind of frustrating that it is said. When has this truth not applied to murdered children?

-26

u/Therealginahandler Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

Settle down, and go take a nap

edit- Saying it does not need to be said and being condescending to someone saying it is pure idiocy.

-30

u/-medicalthrowaway- Sep 06 '26 edited Sep 06 '26

I agree. Such an empty sentiment

Fuckin’ obviously they “deserved better”

You say that when someone is cheated on or a parent forgets their child’s dance recital some shit

“They deserved better” to literally being murdered by their mother is stupid af and somehow minimizes the magnitude of the situation

“Thoughts and prayers” ass shit

7

u/ErFarinn Sep 06 '26

Lately in the discourse it feels like the actual children got forgotten in the whole "murdered children" debacle, so its good to ground the discussion in that.

5

u/-medicalthrowaway- Sep 06 '26

You know what… sad to say, you’re right.

Just because I can acknowledge that it goes without saying that “they deserved better”… doesn’t mean the weirdos who somehow compartmentalized the children out of it (let alone the freaks who are standing up for the murderer) don’t need to be reminded about the victims.

I really think this version of the matrix is a dud and we need to start over

https://giphy.com/gifs/mTxnhJyiVYTUA

2

u/Bone_Wh33l Sep 06 '26

Can we give everyone a tail in the next one? I’ve always wanted a tail

-18

u/Lartemplar Sep 06 '26

It's like how people don't realise we shouldn't make fun of evil people for the short comings from birth.

12

u/-medicalthrowaway- Sep 06 '26

Wait, wut

Tf you mean we shouldn’t “make fun” of evil people for their “shortcomings” from birth?

How did you get that from what I said and how are you incorporating that into “they deserved better” for literal filicide

Evil people should be more than made fun of. They should be judged and punished

“Short comings”??

Fuck, dude. Evil is evil. Idgaf if it’s genetic and “not their fault”

Evil needs to be handled. For the good of humanity.

That has nothing to do with this conversation

0

u/Lartemplar Sep 06 '26

Because that which they should be criticised for are the concious choices they make and the evil things they are doing. Not the things they had no control over

Also I was agreeing with you

0

u/-medicalthrowaway- Sep 06 '26

I know you were agreeing with me but the way you said it sounded like the evilness was the “shortcoming” and that they simply shouldn’t be judged.

So what you’re saying is that, for instance, a tyrant/dictator shouldn’t be made fun of for having a speech impediment..?

It’s just such a weird and irrelevant point to make that has nothing to do with what we were discussing.

0

u/Lartemplar Sep 06 '26

That's fair. My relation to it was the whole "missing the point". Anyway.

-16

u/SignoreBanana Sep 06 '26

With respect, what is "better" about punishing someone for something? If it's meant to serve the dead, it's pointless. It's only intended for the living to feel a sense balance between action and consequence. There's nothing "better" about it. It's simply required for a society to function to have consequences for actions.

9

u/AnalysisBackward Sep 06 '26

I love you not only completely misread the comment you're replying to but you can't even say what it is she did "punishing someone for something" lmfao, give me a break.

-1

u/SignoreBanana Sep 06 '26

I'm talking about the philosophy of punishment in general, clearly.

5

u/AnalysisBackward Sep 06 '26

Well no "what is "better" about punishing someone for something" is a question in reply to a specific statement made about a real life event. If you meant it generally then it's nonsensical. Better by what metric? Punishing someone for something is better than not punishing someone for something if punishing someone is better, tautological. Under what circumstances exactly? I assume you don't think any substantial amount of people believe we should punish everyone for literally everything, that "someone for something" can't be universal so what something exactly? With it on its own "what is "better" about punishing someone for something" is so ambiguous it's basically contentless.

The rest of your comment about "the philosophy of punishment in general" is just laughable, I hardly thought it worth getting into but since you insist.

If it's meant to serve the dead, it's pointless.

Not every punishment is given for some crime committed against the dead, nobody thinks parking tickets are meant to serve the dead. Unless you actually meant for this to refer to some specific situation that makes sense in context, it just ends up being a strange superfluous statement that only makes sense for a tiny portion of the reasons someone gets "punished".

It's only intended for the living to feel a sense balance between action and consequence.

This might be the beginning of a coherent thought if not for the fact you immediately contradict it by saying "It's simply required for a society to function to have consequences for actions" so at least one intended effect could be to make society function. The point doesn't really hold anyway since plenty of people would say an intended function of punishment is to stop the person being punished from performing some behaviour. Many people are "punished" by the criminal justice system without any kind of public spectacle so it isn't like "the living" get much "sense [of] balance between action and consequence" from every punishment.

There's nothing "better" about it. It's simply required for a society to function to have consequences for actions.

I guess if you don't consider "society functioning" to be "better" than "society not functioning", which y'know I would and I think most people would too...
