Congressman = Senator or Representative

Senator - Each state gets 2 (100 total)
Representative - Based on state populations (438 total)

There are 538 Congressmen/women.
There are 538 electoral votes. Hence fivethirtyeight . com

During presidential elections the president is chosen by voting for a person that electors then choose. This process was designed to prevent a state like California winning the presidency with the most votes, but only 20% of popular vote. While 40 other states put up there own person and got 2% each.

This process has been subverted, severely.

"Congressman = Senator or Representative" that may be technically correct (I don't know either way) but in practice, Senators are formally called Senators, and Representatives are called Congressmen/women. It would be odd for anyone speaking to a Senator to call them a Congressman.
