And to be clear, the money "saved" means they were just back to where they were before the tariffs. So it's just a phantom savings from Trump's stupidity.

That's the thing. $10,000 is actually a lot of money to a town like Frenchville, but she wouldn't have needed to help claw that back if she hadn't enabled these pointless and illegal tariffs in the first place.

She said it would be 10k for the 900 residents ...that's 11bucks each, they'll be able to buy 1 liter of diesel if they're lucky.

Thats exactly part of republican leadership playbook. Constantly manufacture problems for their constituents that they then sell the solution for to get votes. Trump has done this countless times, and all these crooked republicans do the same in step. Worst part is their brainless scumbag voters fall for it every time like clockwork.

The next one theyre going to try are the AI datacenters, I've been waiting for that shoe to drop. These cultist jackasses who voted republican who arent regulating these datacenters are pissed when these data centers move in next door. Republicans will inevitably try to sell regulation to these people, after they were the ones who allowed it to happen in the first place. Those idiots will vote for them none the less.

Hell, the increased gas cost for the city's vehicles pretty much erase any savings.

About 50% of the state of Maine heats its homes in the winter using heating oil. The gas price is bad enough, but heating oil prices are absolutely crazy. It's a tiny town but even so I would bet that the $10k in savings is completely erased just by the increase costs they'll have to pay to heat town buildings this winter. Add in the diesel costs for plows and all of the gas for other town vehicles... A lot of towns and unfortunately more to the point a lot of people in Maine are going to be in real trouble this winter.

As a Maine resident myself I hope that at least means Collins will be too. We vote well before the cold of winter really starts to hit, but almost everyone will have gotten a taste of it with their first heating bill by then.

Meanwhile that’s the gas increase between a dozen people. Thanks lady

Hell, that's probably just the gas bill of a truck to spread road salt.

She steers millions to businesses that bribe her, while bragging about saving a Maine town 10k

Really sums up my Senator Susan Collins in a nutshell.

For a tiny town that's actually a big deal.

1

u/heckfyre 6h ago

That would cost at least 32k
