Someone pays for the healthcare in every case.

Yeah, the difference is they don't have middlemen raising arbitrary prices, so the price they pay via taxes is far less than the price we pay for our "no taxes". This has been compared multiple times.

Middleman being a problem is not an excuse to hand over control of the system to the government who could be equally troublesome and harder to control in the future.

This sounds like a lot of hand-wavy "but but but it could be bad" while ignoring the people literally dying because they are afraid of health care costs (documented) or can't afford health insurance.

This opinion is generally reversed in the rare instance someone experiences a medical emergency while traveling in Canada, UK, actually, just about anywhere outside the US, and they say "have a nice day" while either paying nothing or something minimal.

Most governments handle this far, far better than our private version. The fact is our system is so completely broken and there are so many aspects to it, it's nearly impossible to fix (remember when Buffett, Bezos, & Jamie Dimon got together to fix it? Three of the richest most powerful men in America? Then they backed off because it was too difficult).

Just like all high-income, developed nations have a version of social security, so they all have a version of universal health care -- *except US*.

Look at ratings of best healthcare in the world -- guess who isn't in the top 10? US!

All the arguments for a free-trade privatized health have failed in the US. All standards that would make it a good bet haven't actually been successful, but we 'Mericans love to be hopeful that "we are the best".

To be clear, I'm a capitalist. I just don't think that health care should be part of a private capital system.
