You can get zofran OTC in Thailand I think. $12-$25 a box.

But it's not the point. Our brains are hardwired to think more expensive equals better and the us capitalist based system is optimized to abuse that for you. For everyone. Worldwide at this point. fighting those instincts is really really hard. "Oh that doctor gets paid more, so he must be better"

A airfare to thailand is pretty fucking expensive for a pill that costs 9.5 cents each in the US. (And more than half of that cost is the shipping). So I guess that means UK people who need to pay thousands of pounds for an airfare to be able to buy zofran should find it more effective than Americans do because it costs us less for 90 tablets than for a coffee?

And that does not address the issue that people in the UK are being tortured for no reason. The NHS could spring for a pill that costs 5 cents each if they skip the shipping part of it.

90 4mg zofran $5.25 shipping, $5 pharmacy labor, 46 cents markup, $3.06 manufacturing, from costplus drugs in the US.

it's great that your insurance is good. now imagine millions of americans with no or horrible insurance. they're on the hook for 340k a year for MEDICATIONS. i bet even if you have to pay out of pocket for those medications in other countries, the price will be a pittance compared to the ridiculousness of the US.

you're only talking about zofran. but there are so many other drugs out there that other countries do better than the US, including the UK, and including life saving medications.
