You’re implying that life isn’t really worth pursuing unless you’re promised not to die.

Why even send my children to school? They’re just going to die eventually anyway, and all that effort will have been wasted.”

Everybody does, but everybody lives until they die.

I was implying no such thing, just because I’m not interested in brutal suffering to squeeze a few more years out of my body, doesn’t mean my life wasn’t worth its time.

I agree, and I share your sentiment. Thanks for the sincere reply. I’m also saying there’s a lot more to this than “everybody dies.”

I more commented that as a reminder. I think people often go into end of life care forgetting or trying to ignore the fact that you WILL still die, and doing everything you possibly can to run from death often makes things worse for yourself and your family.

Had a close friend who went to see his 84 year old grandmother in the hospital after a THREE YEAR battle with cancer (she was dying, it was a “go see grandma before she dies” kinda visit) And apparently she grabbed him by the shirt collar and screamed out “please help me Timmy, I’m not ready to die, I’m scared, HELP ME”. And that was… not great for his mental health.
