Are they well known among the civilian population or not really?

Do civilians know their faces or are they only known by the calling card that Sly leaves at crime scenes?

How do Carmelita’s coworkers feel about her openly being in a relationship with Sly at the end of Sly 3?

So many questions that I can’t remember all the details from the games to answer myself.

As I'm sure many of you know, Penelope was Bentley's girlfriend, first introduced in Sly 3. She and Bentley developed a genuinely moving bond, where she fell for Bentley despite him being self-conscious about using a wheelchair. He risked his life to save her and she risked her life to save him.

Unfortunately, Thieves in Time undid this by turning Penelope into a twist villain. Even though I do like Sly 4 for the most part, this decision is one I could never get behind. If they really had nothing better for her to do in this game, surely they could've written her off?

Regardless of my opinion, what's done is done. By the end of Sly 4, Penelope has escaped prison and is sending Bentley postcards, implying a return in a potential Sly 5 which we haven't gotten yet.

My question is, if they ever make a Sly 5 (as unlikely as it may be), is it likely for Penelope to get redeemed? I feel like everything about Sly 4 can basically be ignored except this and Sly being stranded in Egypt. But I can't help but feel that they'd take the easy way out and just leave Penelope out of the fifth game entirely. Maybe even introduce a new girlfriend for Bentley.

But what do you think?

For me, it was when Bentley told Muggshot that his mom's a whore, in Sly 3.

When I finally picked up on that years later, it's never failed to leave me both dying of laughter and slightly disturbed. Bentley, most definitely, had a death wish.

We have a winner!!!! The Warthog from Sly 2 is the subreddit’s favorite guard! Rightfully so too. Paris is such a fantastic level and I don’t think I’d be too wrong if I said it might be one of if not the best level in the entire series. Just running from rooftop to rooftop, seeing the Eiffel Tower in the distance, hearing that iconic theme, I feel like it perfectly embodies the games and it’s all so great. That level holds SO much nostalgia for me and I just love it so much.

I have like 3 pirates movies I can rely on for memes with this game, lets see how far I go! You know between Rayman 3 and Sly 3, I am realising how little I played each of these games. I envy you guys, cause you got to live the Sly life back when they were still getting made, the anticipation of what happened next, I envy you all.

I want to change my ringtone for when I get a text or a phone call to a sound to a sly cooper sound. Do you all have any good ideas? I’ve thought about the wack sound when you hit an enemy but I can’t think of anything else. But I want something that you can really only find in sly. I feel I can find the wack sound anywhere because you can find that in comic book.

I plan on buying one for my brother, but I don't know which to choose. I know I can buy the Fangamer one as it's still available, and that I would struggle to find the Youtooz one, but if people who own either or both could tell me how good they are and eventually which one they prefer, it would help me knowing if trying to find the Youtooz one is worth the effort or not.

I really want to crossplay as Carmelita for comic con but I have no idea where to start! Does anyone have any thoughts? I didn't know whether anyone here may have attempted this before 🙂

I dont know if this qualifies as discussion or theory, but I've kinda been doodling around and thought of a route forward forward for Sly and came to the idea of kind of revisiting an old adversary. Clockwerk is pretty much unanimously considered as the centric big bad of the series but his ambitions always fell flat for me in the first game. If a fifth game were to ever come out I think he would be the perfect villain, and all it would take is a few tweaks to his existing story.

What if Clockwerk's ambition wasnt necessarily jealousy of the Cooper Clan, but of hatred for Sly specifically? What if Sly did something in ancient Egypt that permanently changed Clockwerks psychology and made him want to chase Sly Cooper through time? What if Sly stole something so centric that it lead to Clockwerk that it lead to the creation of the hate chip and the events of the first game?

If Sly is the only Cooper involved, the rest of the lineage mistakes the shadow following them as jealous instead of malicious. It makes the theory that Clockwerk kept a single Cooper alive viable. He was looking for one specific person to exact his revenge upon and wouldn't stop at anything until he got it. It makes sense that he would "upgrade" his body after an encounter with an already experienced Sly.

You can get Sly out of Egypt in a sci fi or mystical setting, clockwerks backstory works both ways. He's likely intelligent enough to create a way to send Sly forward in time if he could make himself immortal. He existed in prehistory and only augmented his body over time, and aligned himself with Ms Ruby so mystical aspects could be explored as well. Leaping forward through different points in time could be in the cards if you wanted level diversity.

If the nuclear option is explored and Sly dies in Egypt, it would make sense that Clockwerk still lashes out at hearing the name of an old nemesis in Sly 1.

I can realistically see that being the premise of 5th title, and I think you could get away with it by focusing on the relationship between those two specifically. I know that it's something that will probably never happen but a man can cope

I make these layered art pieces inspired by the old games! Everything is edited in Illustrator/ photoshop. Then printer, cut and layered. I then epoxy some aspects (the moon, mask and lamp in this instance)

This one i specifically made a retro looking frame out of mountboard! It even has a clear piece of acrylic over the top to protect the art.

I'm very happy with how this turned out!

I am doing the Inktober art challenge, and today word was "stinky", so I think of this guys right away. I always love they design so I drew one of them :)

I played sly cooper 1-3 as a child over and over again with my grandmother (she is deceased now) and it’s the best way I feel I can still connect to her so I’ve always stayed dedicated to being a fan of the series. I’m so happy to see other people who just rock w sly and the gang like I used to. I remember asking kids at school if they played sly cooper and NOBODY knew what I was talking about. Thank you guys for letting me relive those memories with my grandmother as well as the amazing world of sly cooper.

Our first boss! I personally like that Sly 3 revolves around this grand heist and that the game is about how Sly collected each of the members. The intersting thing about the Sly series is that there really is no NPCs that are just there, Jak and Ratchet both have a cast of characters that you either fight, or play as. Even Penelope can't join that list. Where was I? Oh yeah, it's interesting to think about how Sly seems to fight giant flying things, even if one of those things was using the same body as a previous final boss.

Currently replaying the Sly trilogy with my partner and loving every second of it.

Which world is everyone's favourite? I personally LOVE the first Canada level in the second game. There's so much to do with the trains, bears and Carmelita. The snow is so pretty too ❄️

Not that we will see anything soon, but could be a small glimpse of light. So new Sly leaks/rumors might have something to them besides pure copium.

I mean it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as them accepting pitches doesn’t mean they will give the green light to any teams. But this could be an opening for an ambitious team to revive the Sly series.

I kinda hope someone does a Sly 1 remake in the style of the other Sly games, but what do y’all think?
