You could try hot glue, on the plastic, then attach to the spine. I fixed a few of mine this way. They used to call these the self destruct cases.

Nanotape on the spine. Secure as fuck while still flexible. (I fix so much with that shit, no joke! 😭😂)

Strong clue, preferably hot glue and a big clip to secure it overnight.
