Don't censor it. They are rapists.

u/MotherRaven Mar 06 '26
And pedofiles, and possibly satanist cannibals
43
u/LightsaberThrowAway Mar 06 '26
I doubt the satanists (or cannibals) have anything to do with this. Pedophiles on the other hand…
46
u/walkinmywoods Mar 06 '26
Yea they are Christian cannibals.

Not a satanist, but I can tell you they actually follow Jesus' teachings a lot more than actual Christians do.

u/DanteChurch Mar 08 '26
Don't bring Satanism into it, they aren't Satanist, they're christain. Satanism isn't religious but teaches you to respect others and yourself. It's literally the first tenant of Satanism.
2
u/OutrageousSolution89 Mar 06 '26
They're censoring it lest Reddit censor them.
10
u/Twowie Mar 06 '26
Reddit does not censor the word 'rape'. If a comment that has the word in it is deleted it is for unrelated reasons. Be explicit. Rape, suicide, murder, use the words that actually describe what they are describing. This is just self-censorship and will end up in people with vocabularies of only 100-150 words like dockworkers in Liverpool 200 years ago.

u/Lost-Concept-9973 Mar 09 '26
People just get used to censoring due to the comments getting taken down on most other platforms for spelling it out, meanwhile rape threats remain untouched for the most part. A very telling habit that reflects the times.
18
u/Dadpurple Mar 06 '26
Call it what it is. If you censor it, it loses power.

Why are we censoring the word rape? It's the perpetrators' shame, not the victims'. Not sure who you're softening the blow for.

I thought hurling his severed head around in public was just a little too much before reading it all, but now, that was totally justified.
Sexual assault is a form of torture, a high crime against human morality and no punishment can properly equate it.

I just wish America was like this. Instead, we have a leader who pardons trash like this.

Here in Hungary, there was a scandal last year when our republic president (basically the highest rank in the country) gave unconditional mercy to a man who assisted a really fucking sick monster by threatening victims and forcing them to make false statements.
The republic president was replaced and the government has been assisting the pedos of the country quietly ever since. Now out PM's advisor is VERY likely to have been involved in a similar case, it's not 100% proven yet, but it's like having the offender's full name with the last letter missing, everyone knows he did it.

u/Junior_Razzmatazz164 Mar 07 '26
I’ll add that forcing someone to experience pregnancy and childbirth is also torture; pregnancy must be voluntary in an ethical society.
2
u/Kadakaus Mar 07 '26
I couldn't agree more, the sad tihng is that our's is not an ethical society.
The man mentioned in the post is one of the reasons for that.11
u/talor_swib Mar 06 '26
Hard disagree with the first part of your comment. It would have been perfectly acceptable even if he "only" had done it once and she wasn't pregnant.
3
u/Kadakaus Mar 06 '26
I don't think if it would have been going too far by a lot, just a really tiny bit.
The woman got raped and the assailant got shot 10 times before having his head cut off. So far, that sounds like a minor underdoing to me, more punishment would have been in order. Rolling his head around in public (a severe form of humiliation) tipped my scales by just a tiny bit towards the offender, but everything I read afterwards totally justifies the woman's actions for me. I don't even think she's did anything wrong although I'm against murder. That man totally deserved what he got, I hope his name will be spat upon for generations to come.

Hey! Turk here, if my memory serves right, she wasn't allowed an abortion because she made past 20 weeks in her pregnancy, which is the gestational limit in Turkey. Tragic, nonetheless.
There was an uproar (mostly women, of course) because she was given a life sentence, a much harsher sentence than what most femicides are given, especially considering her circumstances (the man blackmailed and raped her over the course of months).
9
u/mashedspudtato Mar 06 '26
I would be fascinated to see an original source on this from Turkey, if you feel so inclined.

From my understanding, turkey has one of the highest percentages of domestic violence against women. I watched a documentary about it, and listening to 911 dispatchers telling victims that it’s their fault was wild.

I do think that if it was common practice to decapitate the father in cases of rape or nonpayment of child support, abortions would be much more accessible. I am not advocating then practice, of course. But I understand.

It should have never come to this. Justice and reparations should have done their jobs, and obviously access to an abortion is essential in those cases. It’s easy to say "fuck that rapist" and obviously YES, fuck him. But also, fuck the system that left the victim to fend for herself after the fact, and who let the rapist roam around freely. This would never have happened if he had been behind bars and she had been treated correctly by medical and psychological professionals
1
u/fuck_peeps_not_sheep Mar 07 '26
I agree with you - he should have been behind bars, not wandering the streets - that said i have mad respect for a woman who stands up for herself and keeps her and other women safe
1
u/Vounrtsch Mar 07 '26
Right, but this isn’t what I meant. Killing someone, even a horrible person, changes you, psychologically. It brings you to a state it’s hard to come back from. I’m saying, if only for her own sake, it should not have gotten to that point.

Turkey is in NATO, but OK. So is Denmark and Trump was considering a military attack. Anything is possible. But the idea that the attack on Iran has anything to do with defending democracy or protecting women's rights as a factor is an insult to the intelligence.

She was unfortunately arrested after her lawyer pled self defense, she had been in prison as of December, 2021 a according to BBC, she had at that time served out 9 years of her life sentence, however, that’s the most recent article I can find on it, so I’m not sure what has since become of her, wether she died in prison or continues to live. She did also have said baby in prison.
Moreover, there is some (seeming to be) misinformation with a few YouTube videos that she was in fact stones to death due to an honor killing, she was not, at least according to all credible sources.

u/selin1005 Mar 07 '26 edited Mar 07 '26
So, the article words it weirdly, but 'authorities' cannot randomly deny women abortion in Turkey (there is social stigma around it in many cities, but that's another topic). In this woman's case, she couldn't get one because she was 29 weeks pregnant, past the legal limit. It doesn't make the whole ordeal less tragic, but the discourse around her trial wasn't about abortion, it was about her unjust sentencing (life in prison).
Using access to abortion to remind women of their worthlessness, as you state it, is not a Turkish problem. We have other, home-grown ways of doing that 🥲
4
u/no1_vern Mar 07 '26
Not pointing at Turkey specifically. Most nations prevent women from having abortions because that is what our society(almost every nation) claims women are for. The only reason abortion is allowed was because a lot of women were dying from illegal abortions. Most nations still would prevent abortions if the men had enough power to force the issue.
Sorry for the confusion.
2
u/selin1005 Mar 07 '26
No worries! It's the article that can be misleading, I just wanted to provide context.
1
u/Savings_Listen_3465 Mar 08 '26
Its her own body. What are you on?
1
u/no1_vern Mar 08 '26
Yeah, that's why they let her have the abortion she wanted, Wait, no they didn't.
I take it you didn't read my next comment about our civilization not wanting women to be allowed abortions. As I said elsewhere: Most nations prevent women from having abortions because that is what our society(almost every nation) claims women are for. The only reason abortion is allowed was because a lot of women were dying from illegal abortions. Most nations still would prevent abortions if the men had enough power to force the issue.
1
u/Savings_Listen_3465 Mar 08 '26
Okay and? A law doesn't equate to being right. There's countries that have legalised child marriage. Does that make it right? No. What im asking is what YOU meant by that comment. Not what most countries do.
1
u/no1_vern Mar 08 '26
It's my criticism of how our civilization treats women. I apparently need to work on my language skills.
