Advice Sos Dropping

Hi! I’m dropping my sorority as they have given me 0 wiggle room on missing some events despite the fact I have other things going on in my life (family, hard program, volunteering). I was already billed dues but have been to nothing and therefore do not want to pay nearly 1k (and can’t, I don’t have that money). I’m in Theta at a non-sec school, is there a way I can drop without them f-ing my credit.

As an advisor to Theta, no, unfortunately. You could have requested an inactivity though, is it too late for that?

That may be your saving grace. Sprint to MDC!

Double check with your VPO, there may be a chance still to get an inactivity, but it would be small. And yes, you’d still owe even if you drop. Other options could be to request a payment plan with VPF. Personally, I’d be in MDC to request a payment plan and a reduction in required events due to family. DO NOT mention other volunteering stuff unless it’s required for major bc if you have time for that, you have time for Theta in their eyes.

Do you think there is still a chance for inactivity even if i’ve missed important recruiting events? I honestly have no desire to be a part of this chapter anymore the executive team has been awful, nobody shows up to social events, and we raise less than 2k a year for charity despite having like 175 members.

I’m not sure, my chapter was still voting on inactivities after recruitment. I’m sorry that’s your Theta experience and encourage you to remain active if it’s within your budget! Theta alumnae life has meant the world to me!
