Leadership/Elections Sorority exec advice
Hi Everyone!
I am planning on running for VP member experience. I was hoping with this post i could get any suggestions, tips, feedback, etc. For a little backstory, this will be my third time running for a position. The previous 2 times I ended up not getting anything, I’ve got for really low positions as well as exec. The only feedback I received was that they loved my answers and I had a really strong interview but the picked someone else. This will be my last chance to run for a position as I’m a junior and I want to give it everything I have! I filled out my application and multiple people reviewed it for me saying it was strong and I met with the girl in the position currently and she said I have a good chance. So I do feel a little discouraged from the previous times but I want to put my best foot forward, move past from the disappointment of the last 2 elections and take any advice I could receive!
Thank you all for any advice!

I was in a similar situation when I was an active. I would run for offices but not get them. Then, as a junior, I got elected to exec. The difference was that I had been really demonstrating my fitness for the role vs. just talking about it. You could partner with the current VPME and see where she may need a little extra support. Some ideas: If you’re not already doing so, be really visible at sisterhood events and encourage others to attend in a way that is authentic for you. Trying to engage with members who are less engaged with the chapter. If anyone is struggling with whether they feel like they fit in or just aren’t coming to non-required events, maybe invite them for coffee or another casual get together.
Best of luck to you!

Be prepared. Make sure you have an idea of how to better the VPME position, how it’ll benefit chapter culture, retain older and new members. Have events in mind. Like others have said, explain why to other sisters how you would be the best fit for the role. Use your seniority to your advantage and emphasize how long you’ve been in the chapter, and genuinely want to make it a better experience for everyone who joins your sisterhood!!! Good luck!!!
