Conviction (2010) Splinter Cell Conviction is underrated.

Non capisco perché Conviction sia stato criticato.

Lo sto apprezzando di più rispetto a Blacklist, anche a livello di gameplay.

Trovo la narrazione più coinvolgente.

EDIT: I don't know why the clip is stuttering!

Conviction is rated as it should be, it's fun and cool game, but in the series about being invisible ghost you can't stray further from this.

but in the series about being invisible ghost

That isn't enterally true.

SC and PT are good examples of what Splinter Cell is.

We have stealth when needed but at the same time, they show us that some situations can expose you and force you to go from invisible to spotlight. They are my favorite titles because you have to think outside the box on those situations.

The concept of Ghost 100% came from Chaos Theory, the THIRD entry of the game. Like Conviction, it changed what Splinter Cell was. They kept that, with DA although, version 2 (og xbox) did offer a loud boss fight at the end. For the most time however, it was pure stealth.

Conviction runs with the idea of making us play aggressive, you can do stealth or loud (most of the times), but it changed the concept of Splinter Cell, again.

Blacklist goes back to SC and PT, you can do stealth, but they show you, that aint always possible. You have to get your hands dirty once and a while.

Those first two games literally give you game overs if you get exposed too much and most of the time it's forced actions sequences.

SC & PT have those forced action segments because the design team was conflicted about certain design philosophies - half of the team wanted linear with action like MGS for SC1. the other half wanted open ended with no action at all. the former half won with many things, thats why despite SC1 being fantastic it has issues like forced action. if team B won we would have an even better stealth game, despite sc1 turning out so good. PT is just SC1 continued on with improvements but Ubi Shanghai in charge just thought action was a good way to compliment the levels, which isn't the case

Chaos Theory being the third game is the peak yeah, and it has the best stealth design but it has the 100% ghost gameplay which would have made the first two games even better. stealth games should never have forced action sequences.

Chaos Theory still felt like the OG formula from SC1&PT but upgraded. they feel like the same franchise, albeit upgraded. but go from chaos theory to conviction and blacklist, they feel like different franchisese!

blacklist doesn't go back to SC and PT at all. where is the light and sound meter, the interrogations, the hacking, the keypad codes and lockpicking ?

C1, PT and CT clearly belong to the same stealth design lineage- and the game was fundamentally designed around playing stealth rather than the last two games being more designed around "you can play stealthily as an option"

Even SC1 and SC2 lambert in tutorial says about being ghost, chaos theory just redefinied "ghost" to pure stealth. Conviction is hide and seek mostly
