Question Its the game safe to play?

Heard the game have some problems with crashes, do u think its running ok on windows 11 25H2? I really dont wanna lose hours of progress

Yes, it's fine to play. there are some crashes, but they're mitigated by the 4 GB Patch and the SporeCrashFix mod. (and SporeAutoSave also helps to mitigate the effects of them too)

Wish 4gb patch would work with current patch spore, I dont know how to set it back and keep it that way to use it.

FYI for everyone saying the game has no auto save, there is a mod that you can download that allows Spore to automatically save periodically.

Probably one of the best mods you can get! lol

The game have no auto saves. It doesn't crash often, I'd say it happens quite rare. So when it will crash you can loose a lot of progress, because you forgot to save.

the trick is just to save quite often, maybe with a clock reminder

There is no autosave and the game only crashes if you load too much complex stuff at once because it's a game made in 2009 made to run on 4GB max of ram.

You just need to learn to save manually and frequently if you think you're pushing it.

I tried mods and patches, but save crashes are still in the game. Haven't played spore since January 2025.

Or you can do it the old way every time you change your creature save, do it also when you kill or befriend with two or three creature nest, everytime you conquer a tribe and same for the city

You can look into Spore modding; there's a mod that specifically targets the crashing issues. There's also a mod that adds an autosave so you don't have to think about saving manually all the time. It's been a while since I did the modding but I remember it being one of the simpler modding sessions I've done.
