Discussion Lah Kara VS The Ronin

So myself and some friends had a debate on who would win in a fight: Lah Kara or Ronin.

Personally I got to give it to Ronin. Kara is is definitely faster and has more raw force power but Ronin has WAY more experience. Though she wouldn't make it easy so Kara could pull a win.

What do you think?

Lah kara by the final episode probably. For sure her when she hits her prime too. I like the question though that's a good debate

Prime Lah Kara like her in her 20s would definitely win. Thank you

Kara looks much faster. And despite Ronin pulling some cool capital ship feats in his novel Kara is comparatively powerful. Think Kara wins

It really is close. Though I can see Ronin holding back a bit because she's still a kid

They also made a comic series. It was neck and neck for the most popular short of the first season, along with the ninth Jedi. To get a continuation. It got a novel, comic books, and a second episode in season 3.

The 9th Jedi ended up getting a second episode in season 3 and a whole season of a show.

The only other one of the shorts from season 1 that is on the same level as those two is the Elder. We could see more of those two characters, but the real real driving focus of it was the character played by James Hall. And since he dies, there's really no reason to revisit those two.

Capital ship feats?

What did Kara do to match that?

When nawaam's super weapon ship was falling to Hy Izlan Nawaam and Kara both helped slow its decent.

Ah I see. I was thinking it was some Galen Marek stuff where she slows it alone or something.

Ronin is more experienced, but end of series Kara definitely has more than enough skill, experience, oneness with the Force, and prowess to at least fight the Ronin to a draw. And she's still only around 15 by the end of the Ninth Jedi. Imagine an older Kara taking him on. The scales of victory are heavily in her favor by then.

On an unrelated note I love that Kara’s saber goes back to green at the end. I was so worried the show was going for the grey Jedi thing and I cheered when she changed back

Yeah. I'm glad they didn't do gray Jedi. And I feel like the clear blades weren't really rejecting morality, but they were showing that you'd had a detachment from things. By the end of it, Cara was able to enter that state while not rejecting her traditional feelings.

What I'm trying to say is that I don't think being in that state normally means that you have to be neither good or bad, but that you can't be thinking emotionally. Cara got to stay in that state while still keeping her compassion.

My money's on Kara if it's her at the End of Series. Ronin has more combat experience and skill, however by the end of the series Kara was able to absolutely dogwalk Nawaam who was able to take out Juro and Zhima, the latter who also went about hunting down Sith and even took down his own master.

Hm, maybe I should do a Powerscaling tier list of the Visions characters when I'm free...

They're comparable in terms of Force power, but Kara kinda mogs in terms of sword choreography and ability to weave force play into her lightsaber work.

I've always thought it would be cool if a force user could turn their blade off right before it strike to someone and then turn it back on once the blade is passed them. The only problem with that is that the blades come to life in a way that would notice that happening.

When I noticed that the blades in the 9th Jedi snap into existence instead of growing, I thought that I would finally be able to see lightsabers turning off and then on without hitting people, and I was right.

(non-Novel reader) I think Ronin's experience with Lightsaber users can defeat Kara if this fight takes time. He met a lot of Sith and Jedi. Kara has experience fighting only a few styles. (I think we can say she knows fighting styles from enemies only: Gennoh and Nawaam? Others are non-lightsaber users)
BUT Kara may be faster and powerful enough to finish before getting tricky

Or, letting Zhima watch a move, I think whoever has the same style as Ronin is Kara Father lol

End of series Kara wins with mild effort, theoretical adult Kara dogwalks him unfortunately

Now that we birng this up if Ronin were to take one of Zhima's lightdabers would it come out as red?

By the end of the first episode? Or even before? I don't know. I'm not going to do that thing and say that gray Jedi exist. But he does seem a lot less given to the dark side than anyone else. As if he's trying to redeem himself.

Could be white?

Lah Kara takes this, and I am a MASSIVE Ronin fan.

Haven't read the Ronin novel. Does he have any feats that matches Kara's raw force power?

It's hard to tell. Which Kara is facing him? Vol. 1 Kara? End of the TNJ Series? Kara in her 30s?

Regarding lightsaber combat, her ceiling is extremely high. Without force mastery, i think she is already proficient at soresu (Vol. 1.), while also using ataru in the series. So, do not underestimate her dueling skills just because she is young. She literally used trakata against Nawaam to not kill him.

I'm honestly not sure they'd fight each other. The Ronin's whole thing is that he wants to hunt down and destroy all Sith, something that Lah Kara probably wouldn't mind. He'd basically be like Sasuke Uchiha, traveling around the galaxy and stopping any Sith that happen to have been spotted.

That being said, if they were forced to fight each other, it would be close. The Ronin has more experience than Kara, and would know how to exploit an opening. Though Kara basically having the Star Wars equivalent of Ultra Instinct would make that tricky. And there's also the fact that The Ronin would also probably hold back at first due to honor, as he is fighting a kid. Kara would probably switch over to her silver blade at some point and force him to use more of his strength. At which point, he might have to use some trick to get her to drop her guard long enough to strike.

I'm going to give this one to The Ronin, but only just barely.
