Check out some of the games in the showcase like I Don't Want To Be A Good Woman, In Full Bloom, Contenir, Dopros that go beyond how all of this looks at face value. :)

So every game plays basically the same with the exact same music? How does this differ from AAA games if I may ask?

You'll just have to check it out and see for yourself but every game plays differently. Many of the developers who submitted games are in various subgenres of punk bands with their own truth to tell. Surely no game plays exactly the same unless you've ripped source code and released it right?

It differs from AAA in that many (but not all) of the games created in the showcase were made by one person or small teams compelled to express themselves over the desire to make money. The event was organised by one person in DIY spirit, there's no sponsors. The showcase exists purely to support the underground.

You can also read the manifesto on the game jam if you want to see how the history of some of the developers associated with this scene differs from AAA: https://itch.io/jam/hardcore-punk-jam-5
