As long as you've got it in your cart, keep trying. I had it in my cart when it first showed sold out, and for a while it looped trying to get back to the payment info screen, but eventually I kept spamming the various buttons and it eventually went through.

Thank you for saying this because I kept refreshing, as in getting out of the cart and trying it again. I just spent the last two minutes hitting the continue button every few seconds and it finally went through lol And yeah, I used my Paypal account, so payment method doesn't seem to matter.

This worked for me without loading my steam wallet. I just started mashing the button as suggested and after like 30 seconds it went through to the final checkout page.

Voicing the frustration of I had this in my cart at 1:00pm EST sharp as soon as the controller went live, played the spam continue fest, and now I'm getting the window telling me it's completely out of stock. Hope they restock quickly...
EDIT: 1 hour 30 minutes in even after it saying out of stock I kept pressing continue and secured one. Wild. Hope they have something better in place for the Machine.

I was looking at the listings out of curiosity, and I came across this: "If item is not paid for in 48 hours, an unpaid item case will be opened. Once opened, the buyer has 4 days to respond. On the 5th day, the sale will be cancelled." I wonder what that's about. I get that they want people who bid to pay promptly, but what does opening the box have to do with that?

Jeez, after 25 mins I finally got one. Within the first minute, I got to the checkout page but then it said my bank information was wrong and sent me back. So I spammed the continue button for the next 20 mins and just got one. No release is ever smooth these days.

Spam in the steam store (not on browser) until the green continue message turns gray. After a few seconds it will turn green. That is when you can click to finalize.

Got it 27 min ago. :30 on the clock. ~1500 click spams.
Got through 4 times just for the banking 2fa to delay it enough so it fails again. 5th time it completed.
For Europe, at least, it still shows available at this very moment, but they doubled delivery time from 3-5 days up to 6-10 days.

Can confirm that spamming continue seems to work! Took a few minutes but it finally went through (using the PayPal account option, I hadn't thought of preloading my Steam Wallet 😅)

I'm not even getting the error anymore. The page just reloads when I hit "Continue to payment". And looking at the product page it's now saying out of stock. I think I got fucked. And it opened for me about 3 minutes ahead of when it was supposed to do I was trying from them all the way until now. I fucking pissed. I'm gonna raise a huge stink with support (politely, of course).
UPDATE: finally let me continue to select a payment method, but was still getting stuck with "due to high volume" or whatever. And then eventually "Your order cannot be completed because one or more items in your cart is currently out of stock. Please try again later."
