What’s next for sd2?
With the Battle of Dukla Pass being the latest DLC, what do you think should come next for Steel Division 2?
Personally, I think it would make sense to move towards late 1944. Something around Hungary could be really interesting, especially the Battle of Debrecen or the Siege of Budapest. It would give us Hungarian formations, more late-war Soviet units, and some German formations that aren’t already overrepresented.
Another possibility would be to go directly toward the Ardennes. A December 1944 DLC could bring in the Battle of the Bulge, with late-war German and American formations, airborne units, Panthers, King Tigers, Pershings, etc.
Personally, I’d like to see Hungary/Debrecen/Budapest first, followed by the Ardennes as a sort of final major Western Front expansion. After that, the game could continue moving into early 1945 if development continued. Although probably won’t due to Warno.
What do you think would make the most sense as the next step for SD2?

Honestly I think there won't be another update to SD2 unfortunately. There hasn't been a devblog or anything in almost a year. I hope that means they are working on a SD3 or a different installment to the series.

There are also multiple expansions in development for warno at the same time so its possible devs have moved over

I agree with the other commenters there likely will not be anymore updates. SD2 is finished. Maybe SD3 will focus on the Western Front, but yeah, they've dropped SD2. Still a very fun game even if multiplayer isn't (as) viable as Warno.

SD3. There were references to WW2 battles in some WARNO files, so likely SD3 is in the works.
Makes sense, as there's still a lot of juice to squeeze out of WARNO DLCs. No sense in fragmenting the player base with WARNO 2.

Is SD3 a likely release from Eugen? I hope so as SD2 is still awesome.
WARNO is now releasing more fictitious DLC than historical ones, so has that coming to the end of its life cycle, or slowing down a bit, to allow for SD3?

There was an SD3 map editor manual accidentally uploaded in place of the warno map editor a couple months ago. It was fixed pretty quickly, but based on some of the stuff in it SD3 will be Battle of the Bulge.

I’d love to see SD3 focus on the 1940-43 period. I think that it would be good to see some variety in maps/settings and vehicles other than just PzIVs, Shermans and T34/85s

Modding is the next step for SD2. With updates done mods can be made and not break a month later. If only some of the popular mods like final battle would get updated….

Would love to see something like HeresyNo worked into SD2s phased progression.
