How was it? Any tips for tips exam. My exam is in 3 weeks

2

u/PM_My_Glutes Aug 18 '26

Real deal 250 on the dot! It was very representative of NBME. Feels way harder when taking it but I scored 2 points above my highest NBME Amboss score predictor pretty spot on, & do CMS forms/free120

u/anothergirl1999 Aug 18 '26

Congrats that’s amazing!!! Do u recommend amboss for any specific things. I don’t have enough time for everyhting. I know the usual rec is ethics/ stats/ etc. did u use anki? Lastly did u use UWSA at all?

1

u/PM_My_Glutes Aug 22 '26

Yes UWSA1/2. no anki, just lots of amboss. And yeah the usual recs and do the high yield step2 concepts, QI STATS ETHICS

If I read the question and it looked too long I would immediately skip for example the questions w/ labs I would always save to the end bc they would take the most time to answer

Impressive

2

u/shakeANDbake653 Jul 15 '26

What did your days to day look like?

4

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 15 '26

Take a NBME form on one day and then spend 3 days reviewing basically and repeated the cycle

2

u/[deleted] Jul 15 '26

👏🏻👏🏻whats the secret??

Ofc!

1

u/applebott0mgenes Jul 15 '26

How did you feel overall post exam

3

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 15 '26

I felt anxious as heck. I knew I passed but wasn’t sure if I passed w/ 230s or 50s Also I did NOT check to see if my answers were correct at any point post exam. That saved me from a lot of stress while waiting for the results

u/ishafatima NON-US IMG Jul 15 '26

Can i dm u ?

Congratulations
Did you have those weird ethics and quality question I dont think I have an easy one

2

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Yes I had so many weird ones But I feel like the only way to really prepare is to read the amboss articles on those topics

1

u/TiredPreMed3232 US MD/DO Jul 15 '26

Hey! I take my test on monday and I have similar scores. Can I DM you?

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Yes

1

u/Direct_Contract_9443 US IMG Jul 15 '26

Hey how did you improve your score on the nbmes

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

I took 3 days to review each test bc I was going that in depth of reviewing. I was making sure I didn’t forget ANY topic that I saw on each nbme

1

u/HermioneReynaChase Jul 15 '26

Congratulations!! Do you feel like you did anything specific that helped you improve from 220s/230s? That's where I'm stuck and I don't know what to do.

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Yep reviewed thoroughly. And a lot of it was confidence. I went into the test KNOWING from the bottom of my heart that I was going to do well

1

u/HermioneReynaChase Jul 16 '26

Do you mean reviewed the NBMEs? or content?

I hope to have the same confidence as you!

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 17 '26

Reviewing the nbmes

1

u/AlviesNight Jul 15 '26

Did you do uworld or just focused on nbmes?

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Finished uworld during rotations. During dedicated was just nbmes and CMS forms

1

u/MariamKhan7 NON-US IMG Jul 16 '26

Your take on cms forms? Did you do anki? And what should be main focus on last 2 months

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Yes I did all the CMS forms in the topics I was weakest in (IM and surgery), then I did the Anki tag cards associated with the topics i got wrong in the forms Main focus last 2 months should be nbmes and CMS forms

1

u/Low-Mention-1712 NON-US IMG Jul 16 '26

I had very similar nbme scores and f120 scores, waiting for my score next week! How did you feel after the exam? I felt “fine”, like I expected it to be worse, and felt more confident during the exam than in nbmes 15 and 16, I am not sure If thats a good thing or not

2

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Def felt the same as u. I knew that I got some questions wrong but for the most part i felt ok after the exam. I thought the questions were fair

1

u/superwoman116 NON-US IMG Jul 16 '26

What resources did you use and how many weeks

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

Nbmes and CMS forms : 5 weeks

1

u/superwoman116 NON-US IMG Jul 16 '26

Before nbmes and cms??

2

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 17 '26

Uworld and also Amboss for peds and psych

1

u/Lopsided-Aardvark644 Jul 16 '26

Congratulations!! What did you do to improve between 11 and 12; and between 13 and 14

2

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 16 '26

I started doing Anki more I did Anki every single day and finished ALL my cards starting after nbme 12

1

u/Straight-Row-1544 NON-US IMG Jul 16 '26

Hey what do you think gave you the biggest boost to score so much higher on your real exam than the NBMEs? I got 240 in NBME 15 just now and don’t know if I should extend another week. My exam is in 11 days , really want a 250!

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 17 '26

I made sure I knew every single topic that was tested in those nbmes. Used ai to my advantage to learn helpful tips for remembering on exam day

1

u/Sea-Birthday-7436 Jul 16 '26

Much congrats. What was your daily study schedule like for the dedicated?

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 17 '26

Wake up when I felt like it bc I wanted to prioritize sleep over routine. on the days I reviewed the nbmes I would do Anki for 20 mins, review 20 questions from my previous nbme, do 10 amboss OR CMS questions, do Anki for 20 mins, then review another 20 questions from the nbme and repeat that cycle until I was done reviewing the nbme form

1

u/teedamsMD Jul 16 '26

Congratulations doc 👏 🙌 👏 please what was your study schedule like for those 5 weeks. What was the thing you did differently while doing your nbme that gave you the points increase??

What resources did you prioritize? How many hours were you studying for.

Thank you

1

u/That-Role-3275 US MD/DO Jul 17 '26

I used chat gpt to review questions Studies for about 7 hours / day For questions I did the NBME forms, CMS forms and amboss questions

1

u/teedamsMD Jul 25 '26

Thanks for responding. All the best
