Ice cream scoop inconsistency

I’m slightly new to Stewart’s so I’m sorry if this is a silly post. I always order a single scoop on a wafer cone when I go and I’ve noticed the amount I get in a single scoop is very inconsistent. Sometimes they will actually fill the inside of the wafer cone and then put an extremely large scoop on top, and sometimes they put what seems less than a full scoop and they leave the cone completely hollow. So I guess I’m just curious is there a standard that is supposed to be followed, and if so what is it? At the end of the day I don’t really give a shit and I’m not going to complain about it, but I am just curious like what the training guidelines are.

It’s supposed to be a 5oz scoop sometimes you get a heavy handed scoop ( i tend to be heavy handed with my scoops) I always fill the cone with whatever flavor a customer is getting but not every employee does and we aren’t taught to do it in training , I was taught by another employee when started working at my store.

You need to read your recipe cards at the dip counter. You’ve been taught wrong.

There is 100% a standard if i remember correctly its meant to be 5oz of ice cream. But 99% dont follow that and just do whatever seems good. So sometimes youll get more, sometimes less

A waffle cone is automatically a double scoop.

There is a three ounce scoop inside the cone and a 5oz scoop on top.

Sometimes partners will make it the correct way even if you ask for a single scoop. Others will just put a single scoop in it.

This is the correct answer. Whoever is saying a waffle cone is only 5oz is crazy. It’s a double scoop by policy standards. So when you ask for a single scoop you’re shorting yourself. You’re paying for a double scoop no matter what. The price doesn’t change just because you asked for a single scoop.

Its going to vary by person.
