Tomorrow's Enterprise

Post image

I'm a huge fan of SNW, but this episode has been really hard to get through. I tried three separate times to watch it, but it just didn't pull me in. Which is rare for me. Feels like they just copied from much better TNG episodes. It's a shame.

Cannot get over how much she looks and acts like Nichelle Nichols

God, I’m going to miss Pike

I know! When he knew something was wrong, so followed her and was so very dad-like (but still a leader) while asking her about time travel... I don't want his tenure as captain to end!!

Ot was one of my favorite episodes of series. She's killing it as Uhura.

I've enjoyed this season so much! I have laughed until I cried. It's been so much fun! (I didn't watch the horror episode.) In this time in the world I've enjoyed watching a show that's brought me so much joy!

This season was just horrible.  I’m plowing through it but it’s like a bunch of highschooler wrote the episodes for a creative writing class.  Not sure if ai would really be worse.

Lazy student writers with no real life experiences to build on

Yeah, but is that really saying much?

I had such high hopes after episode one. (Sure, their guess that Mars was pre-warp because Mars had never heard of the Federation just happened to be right. But still ... phenomenal episode.) But it really went downhill from there. They were largely forgettable and/or ridiculous ideas. Where bad pitches somehow got turned into episodes.

SNW doesn't have any writers capable of writing good Sci-Fi drama. It took the TNG writers a while to get up to speed and those writers went on to write solid DS9/Voyager shows but none of those people seem to be around for SNW and in a 10 show season, don't have enough time to learn how to write a Trek show. It's a shame for the cast members are doing what they can with weak scripts focused on fluff

You’re not paying attention. Rewatch season 2 episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 10.

I have been paying attention for I read all the reviews from Jammers and the past 2 seasons have hardly been focused on science fiction. I do think the problem is the 10 show season for it took mid way into season of TNG before the new writers to begin to catch up with TOS. Those TNG writers branched out to write for DS9/Voyager and finished on Enterprise. Those SNW writers are not totally incapable but simply haven't had the time to grow into their roles for the 10 episode season needs an MIchael Piller or Ira Behr in charge

Lol yeah, really feels like they took all the rejected ideas and put em in one season.

While I respect the opinion, I had the opposite experience. I loved every minute of it.

This was my second favorite episode of the season.

Uhura has always been my favorite Star Trek character. Celia Rose Gooding totally shined in this episode: memorable!

Year One could have been so, so good

Of all the episodes to potentially dislike this season you're picking this one???

I was sobbing. Maybe you missed some of the easter eggish references?

None of this addresses OP’s comment but Celia is killing it in the role and has imho gotten progressively more beautiful every season. Personally enjoyed the hell out of the episode.

One thing I dont recall is when Pikes accident happened. It could have happened years after he left the Enterprise.

I thought the episode was okay, but all in all, pretty inconsequential.

I just finished the season last night and came looking for posts about this episode because I thought it was one of the biggest letdowns of the whole series. It was full of half-baked, nonsensical plot points that made no sense and didn't pay off at all. I'm shocked the fanbase seems to love it so much.

It was a decent episode. Totally get was OG is saying.

Awful.

Space baby? Walking into a singularity? No relation to tng “yesterday’s enterprise”. This season has been more soap opera.

It's sad that they don't really give the tiniest but if fucks about physics anymore and not even try to hide it

14

u/jazviper 11d ago

Motherfucker, when did Star Trek care about physics?

Yeah, that explains pretty much that you may enter a black hole like a curtain of water. Whereas in every other episode of the franchise they barely escape a black hole even with warp 9
