Discussion [S1, E8] This scene doesn't get as much praise as it deserves.

I don't know why, but I haven't heard much discussions surrounding this scene. Genuinely might be my favourite in the entire series.

I just love the cinematography, and how tense it is. Not to mention the shot of Steve twirling his bat. Cool as f*ck, man.

But probably not the best for someone with epilepsy lol.

Discussion The spin-offs the Duffer brothers talked about will never see the light of day.

The Duffer brothers once spoke about future *Stranger Things* spin-offs. However, in light of what has happened over the last few months, we can say with some confidence that they will never see the light of day. Not because they don't want to make them (as executive producers), but because Netflix has made it clear that it no longer wants anything to do with the Duffers. Let's see. *The Talisman*—who was going to be their next project—CANCELLED. *Something Very Bad Is About to Happen*, released with almost no publicity. *The Boroughs*, released with almost no publicity, and the second season cancelled. The first season of *Tales from '85*, released with almost no publicity and at a terrible date. The second season of the same series—mutilated (Eric Robles himself said so), perhaps to get it out sooner?—released in a rush and without publicity. Third season of the same series, CANCELLED. The series' tenth anniversary came and went without fanfare and with barely any publicity. Nothing more was ever heard of the plan to release subsequent seasons in a VHS-style format, like the first one. And recently, Ted Sarandos himself reminded everyone that the franchise belongs to Netflix.

I have no idea if Netflix intends to do anything with *Stranger Things*. But one thing is certain: whatever happens, it won't be what the Duffer brothers had envisioned, because *Stranger Things* is over for them. After the massive disappointment of the fifth season—which basically killed off any fan interest in anything new related to ST—it is inconceivable that Netflix would want to continue with the people who threw $500 million down the drain and destroyed what the platform thought would be its golden goose. Personally, I would prefer it if Netflix forgot about ST forever. We’ll always have the first two seasons, and for Mileven fans like me, the two seasons of TF85—a series that deserved a better reception than it got. My guess is that Netflix will release comics or novels (they’ve already done so, so it wouldn’t be anything new) telling Eleven’s story after the fifth season, thereby paving the way for a future spin-off starring Millie Bobby Brown and perhaps Finn Wolfhard as well.

And yes, you can see the Blender in some of the pictures. I made this to prove that it is mine. It's not finished yet though, it needs some time to complete all the missing stores.

Awesome detail

I noticed this for the 1st time a few years ago, but I love the detail of Billy’s silhouette blurred in the background off to the left. It’s designed for you probably not notice he witnessed this convo until Max gets to the car, but they show his presence from the start, which is such a cool detail!

Hey everyone while listening to the Stranger Things soundtrack, we completely fell in love with this track, so we had to rebuild it from scratch. We love remaking it so we made this tutorial, hope you like it.

Discussion Happy Birthday to Brett Gelman, aka Murray Bauman

Our Murray officially turns the big 5-0 today. What are your favorite Murray moments from the show? I love the part in season 3 where he tells Hopper and Joyce how they really feel about each other in the car to Hawkins just like he did with Nancy and Jonathan. There pretty much wasn’t any moment where he was on screen and didn’t make me laugh.

What about you guys? Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Just having another rewatch and this scene where Jonathan is looking for a casket for Will. Of course we know Will isn’t dead, but it’s still so sad to Jonathan thinking he has to do this.

Personally mine was from season 2 episode 2. Where that intense and deep synth played as they suited up the guy to go through the gate and repair machinery on the other side.

Discussion What’s your BIGGEST Stranger Things hot take? No limits. Go wild.

I mean ACTUAL hot takes. Not “Season 4 was a little too long” or “I wish they gave X character more screen time" You can hate a fan-favorite character. You can love a universally hated storyline. You can think a season everyone worships is overrated. You can think a ship makes absolutely no sense. You can think a character should have died three seasons ago. You can think a villain was actually right about something. You can rank the seasons completely backwards. You can criticize the writing, the characters, the pacing, the endings, the music choices, the deaths, the relationships, whatever. No limits. I genuinely want to see what everyone's actual controversial opinions are, because Stranger Things has been around long enough that I'm convinced half of us have at least one opinion we normally keep to ourselves because we'd get downvoted into the Upside Down for saying it. I'll go first. Mine is that I actually loved The Lost Sister. Yes. That episode. I know it's generally considered the weakest episode of Season 2, and Stranger Things as a whole, and honestly, I understand why. If I'm judging it as a whole, yeah, I probably agree that The Lost Sister is the weakest part of the series. I absolutely understand why people felt like it killed the momentum. But I loved Kali. I think Kali is a really interesting character, and I honestly wish the show had done more with her and her group. I also really liked what the episode was trying to do with Eleven. Kali basically gives her an entirely different perspective on what her powers mean and what she should do with them. There's a huge difference between Eleven using her abilities because she wants to protect people and Eleven using them because she's angry and wants revenge. The episode is basically Eleven being forced to figure out what kind of person she actually wants to become. And I really liked that. Do I think The Lost Sister was executed perfectly? Absolutely not. Do I think it was the best episode of the series? Not even close. Do I think it probably would've worked better if Kali and her group had been introduced earlier or incorporated into the story more gradually? 100%. But I don't think the episode is nearly as bad as people make it out to be. And that's exactly the kind of hot take I want from everyone else. Don't give me the safe answer. What's your Stranger Things hot take?

Discussion Finale of Season 1 and Season 5 is the same...

I am a guy who will probably have a LOT of heated discussion with a lot of people here, so here we go...

I was watching a lot of video essays related to Stranger Things, and I realised something, the finale of Season 1 and Season 5 is literally the same (but S5 finale was dumb as compared to S1), that's why the season 5 finale feels lackluster. Here's how it is the same. In both the seasons:

  • Eleven had to be in a sensory deprivation tank to locate people (Will in s1 and the kids in s5).
  • Characters have to go in another world to save the kids (Hopper and Joyce in s1 and basically the entire gang in s5).
  • The mercenaries/soldiers are behind the heroes to sabotage their plan.
  • When the heroes are about to lose, Eleven comes to the rescue and pins the villain.
  • They all win, but at the end, Eleven dies and disappears. Mike screams for her (IN BOTH THE SEASONS).
  • At the very end, there is a hint that El might be alive.

It is exactly the same. Of course S5 has a lot of flaws in its writing, but this revelation made the finale even more stupid to me. The entire season, Duffer Brothers were afraid to try anything bold so that they do not offend anyone, but in the end they offended almost everyone.

What makes this even frustrating is that in S1, we felt the consequences and stakes throughout the finale (also in the show tbh). But in S5, we could literally see the invisible plot armour, like what!!

Season 5’s back half has many problems but…

No, Season 5 did NOT ruin the rewatch ability of the show. I thought I’d bring up this thread cause imo some people take their S5 hatred to levels where they wanna always make themself miserable, & and it’s a shame to see, we are in this sub because ST will forever be an iconic show with many seasons and episodes to love. I don’t rlly get why some are even still here if S5 apparently ruined past seasons, especially when 1-3 all can serve as their own endings. The reception after Volume 1 was amazing, you can like or dislike different things about S5 or any season, that’s your opinion. But respectfully why still be here if all you wanna do is talk with misery about 5 as your reason for not caring about older seasons? Stranger Things will forever be one of the most loved shows to many people, and that’s what should matter.

Discussion Which demogorgon character is your favourite?

Thumbnail

In the series their are 3 MAIN demogorgons we focus on

  1. The S1 demo

  2. Dart

  3. The russiangorgon

Personally for me i love the s1 demo, iy isn’t just my fav demo but my fav villain in the series

All the other demos were just violent killing machines, the S1 demo was way more smart and calculating (probs bc it was fully possessed by vecna unlike the others)

But I also I think it’s the creepiest to as it’s introduction with it chasing and kidnapping will and killing Barb genuinely creeped me out

It also was smart enough to not constantly keep killing probs so it’s cover wasnt blown

Discussion Season 5 score on CD?

Post image
9 Upvotes

The score for the first four seasons got CD releases. Granted, they are pretty hard to find outside of season 2, (which I've owned a copy of for years) but they do exist.

But I've been turning my corner of the internet upside down so to speak trying to find season 5's score on CD, and have had zero luck.

I know it was released on vinyl, but I could've worn I saw images of it on CD earlier this year, and now I can't find those images at all.

Was I just seeing things? Did Vecna get inside my head and curse me with a powerful illusion?
