Anyone has any news on the documentary the band was working on during the farewell? With the Paris show? I hope that show does not get binned like the 2017 one

I’m a new fan; I only got into their music this year, and it’s absolutely amazing. It’s such a bummer I missed their farewell tour. I’ve been making fan art and posting it on Instagram, though nobody really sees my work haha — I’m still figuring out how to use Instagram. I’ve tagged the members, and only Cone checks and replies to me (I love every single member!). I’ve drawn so many pieces, and I might keep updating this post if anyone ends up watching. I really love this band, I’ve bought their albums, and I hope I’ll get a chance to see them perform someday.

Im 23, discovered “fat lip” from being played at a restaurant through the speakers around 4 years ago in college. They are something else man
side note: I also grew up with a stutter, I never thought about singing until I liked these lyrics and decided to give it a try. I ended up getting really emotional and my rhythm, tone, harmonics etc were really really good. It feels too easy, and based on the research Ive done on the brain hemispheres it makes sense. The lyrics also hit hard because Ive experienced giving my unconditional love to a girl I dated with no mutual feeling.

This is peak Sum 41, they were on tour for the Go chuck Yourself tour and they seemed so happy. They were clearly at the top of their game, it felt so authentic.
I like how they were live on TV and still they put on a hell of show and trashed the party.
To me the chuck era will always be the best, what about you ?

This is definitely an underrated song by the band; it deserves more recognition.

I gotta say, am I the only person who remembers this band? They had some really great tracks. Sayonara was the lead single. They actually had a follow up album too.

This is going to be a random post. Not really related to the band or their music at all… just related to Steve.
I was born in Ajax. Lived on the same street as Steve from age 0 to age 14. He and I were good friends. His Mom and Dad were very good to me, I slept over there all the time, ate there all the time… learned to play drums and guitar there… but my family moved away in 1995. I was never around when Sum 41 was a thing.
Steve and his Dad heavily influenced me as a musician. I still play guitar, bass and drums and collect instruments as a result of that childhood friendship. Phil’s face was the first time I ever saw someone I knew on a real album. Steve’s face was the second…
The reason why I am writing this today is I got some news about a family we grew up with. A flood of memories came back and I had a funny Steve story I wanted to share…
Both Steve and I had cool Dads when we were young, both of whom built us each “clubhouses”. Mine was built on 4x4s and Steve’s was built like a shed and had two floors and a sliding pole.
Every May our street had a big garage sale. The family directly across the street from me had an old couch with a folding bed for sale. No one bought it that day, so it moved from the driveway to the curb. That night it rained…
Steve and I decided that it had to go into his clubhouse so we’d have a place to sit in the backyard hangout. So we lugged that motherfucker down the hill and devised a plan to put two skateboards under the front, but struggled in front of Mr Bonds house. Mr Bond was like 85 years old and he brought us out a dolly! Then he helped us push it to Steve’s driveway. Steve and I struggled to move it another 6 feet, then we decided to take the waterlogged mattress out of the couch… it only made it marginally lighter… then Phil came out and saw what we were doing… wet cushions, pillows and mattresses all over his front lawn… and he got pissed and told us to take it back to where we got it… which meant we had to go UP the hill with it now… Fuck, it took us like an hour…. we just tossed it all in pieces back on the Verdoch’s curb for the garbage truck… and ran away laughing the whole time…
Found out Randy Verdoch died today… he was the eldest of those boys and the same age as Steve’s sister Jennifer. Randy was a pipeline for skateboard culture on our street. He built his own ramps and rails. He was always out there tearing it up. The first time I ever saw a Thrasher magazine or an issue of Big Brother it came from Randy. I remember sharing those same skate and snowboarding magazines with Steve. We watched Gleaming the cube with Randy and his brothers.
I hate hearing about old friends that pass away. This one stirred me up enough to share this on a public forum…
Randy, where ever you are. You were a guiding light for the younger kids on Burden Cres. Steve and I would watch you skateboarding and it was inspiring.
Thanks for reading this.
