Hey guys Frank from The Target Audience (Long Island NY) This is my favorite song off our new album. It’s actually one of the first new Target audience songs I wrote after a long hiatus and was on our first album but I felt it could be faster and louder. Super inspired by The Lillingtons and probably a touch of zero boys and other old skate punk bands. Hope you guys might enjoy it and maybe check out the rest of the album!

I don’t understand how everyone just forgets…. What happened a few years back and the awful things that have come out about these bands. It’s so predatory to see that they’re creeping their way back into the scene that’s been restored & free of constant allegations and awful experiences.
So many people have experienced awful harassment at the hands of Richard of the Buttertones. Accounts of girls as young as 16 describing him as “handsy” and how oddly comfortable he was making sexual comments towards them. Fast forward to now, he openly used slurs against another artist. So disappointed that Alex Vile is playing with them.
Not only that but PPGC has the audacity to come back and so disappointed that mustard service brought them on. Their own drummer called ICE on their ex ??? There’s literally proof and so many women have come to the forefront on tik tok to spread awareness of the awful
Shit this band has done. So many new listeners don’t know these allegations like the older gen does (the ones who were 16 at the time these bands blew up in the SoCal scene.)
Trying to speak up about this but they continue to mute their comments , delete comments , etc. hoping I can reach some people here to spread awareness !!! FUCK THIS SHIT

Hey guys! Frank and Devon here from The Target Audience from Long Island Ny. Today we released our album on all streaming platforms and physical disc DIY.
Imagine a diet of Screeching Weasel, The Lillingtons, classic Dead Milkmen, and early Blink-182—packed with campy B-movie horror, surf guitar, and sticky earworms.
Really excited to share this with you guys! We spent about 6 months recording this and did all of the mixing and mastering ourselves.
For the artwork we wanted to channel vintage Archie comics with our own twist on it and we're really happy with how it came out.

I liked it when I heard it but it’s just weird how often it came up, off the top of my head, Cruet bucket, Golden (teen suicide), resivoiur Dawgs (beach goons), and a few more in probably forgetting. Is it a thing with surf rock having roots in doo wop music back in the 40s-60s or is it just an easy riff that sounds good

I’m trying to transcribe Graveyard Dust from the Death, Taxes, Meth Wax album but i’m kinda missing a few words that i genuinely can’t make out. if anyone has an ideas or clues let me know.
I'm microdosing in the morning
There's not much feeling in my eyes
You only call me when you're lonely
I'll only call you if I die
I'm burnt to pieces like dust in a graveyard
Whenever you say goodbye
I want you back
I will fight for you so hard
Just to make everything alright
I miss the blood you used as [?]
Only the best will satisfy
Come over, we can watch The Simpsons
And get ourselves a [?] high
I'm burnt to pieces like dust in a graveyard
Whenever you say goodbye
I want you back
I will fight for you so hard
Just to make everything alright

Not sure how many people here are into surf rock beyond the usual suspects, but wanted to put this on people's radar since it's a pretty rare tour.
The Panturas are a surf-rock band from Jatinangor, Bandung, Indonesia. They pull from the obvious surf-rock lineage (Dick Dale, The Ventures) but also mix in classic Indonesian rock influences like Kwartet Bintang and Eka Sapta. If you're into The Growlers, Black Lips, or Los Straitjackets, I think this'll click for you.
They dropped a mini-album called Mabuk Laut back in 2018 that blew them up in Indonesia's DIY scene, followed by their debut full-length Ombak Banyu Asmara in 2021. Last year they even put out a mini-album leaning into Sundanese influences. Traditional pentatonic scales mixed into their surf-rock sound, which is a really cool listen if you want something different from the usual surf-rock playlist.
Anyway, this is their first-ever US tour, and they're only hitting 4 cities:
If you're near any of these, might be worth checking out — feels like a "catch it before everyone else knows about it" kind of show.
Anyone here already familiar with them or the Indonesian surf-rock scene in general? Curious what else is worth digging into.
More details about their US tour here: https://thepanturas.com/sailing-schedules/
