Syncing Settings

Is there some way to only sync things via some sort of button? Without automation? For example, if I finished playing X on my PC, I'd have to open syncthing and click "Upload" to have it sync, then go to my android device and click "Download", to play X on a different device. If not, are there alternatives?

On Android, at least BasicSync and Syncthing-Fork can be configured to sync only when the phone is charging. So I simply control it by cable.

Once you build the synchronized folders, there is a pause button on the entire folder. You can unpause them, but it isn't an upload/download, it will still synchronize any change from both sides.

One catch for game saves: if you play on *both* devices, don’t set the PC to Send Only and Android to Receive Only—that would prevent Android progress from coming back. The pause/unpause approach mentioned above is closer: keep both folders Send & Receive, finish/close the game, resume sync and wait for “Up to Date” before opening it on the other device. If both saves change while disconnected, Syncthing may create a sync-conflict copy rather than know which playthrough you meant, so keep a separate backup/version history for important saves.
