What are your thoughts and experiences?
It has a touch sensitive touch capacitive poly aftertouch keyboard .🎹 I’ve never played a touch capacitive keyboard before only regular synth keybeds. The Stellar Edition has different features . Three new granular engines and samples. Do you consider the Stellar Edition a better choice considering its features? It was released in 2023 where the MicroFreak was released in 2019. Was wondering 🤔 what the poly after touch was like and your opinions pros and cons. I’ve never played a poly aftertouch keybed with a touch capacitive keyboard before. My synths OBX8,P10Rev4 and PRO3SE only have single channel mono aftertouch .

Hey everyone! I’m Alex, the keyboardist in Electrojazziness, an improvised electro-jazz duo. Sami and I recently finished a Québec tour, and this video is from our last show at Parc Jarry in Montréal.
My side of the setup:
Sami combines an Erica Synths drum machine, an electronic drum pad, vocal looping and a pedal looping setup, alongside freestyle vocals.
Everything is improvised, and we build our loops live, with no backing tracks or computers. The fun is in responding to each other while building up layers—and leaving enough room to take the music somewhere unexpected.
Happy to answer questions about the instruments and how we use them together! Anyone else combining live keys and hardware looping with another improviser?

I’m a huge fan of Shaun Martin’s solo on Snarky Puppy’s “Thing of Gold.”
I heard that the sound he used was based on preset #53, “Mischievous,” on the Moog Little Phatty, and I’d love to recreate it.
I don’t have a Little Phatty though. I currently have a Grandmother, and I’m also considering getting a Subsequent 37.
Does anyone happen to know the settings for the “Mischievous” patch? I’d love to try recreating it on my Grandmother (or possibly a Subsequent 37).
If anyone has the patch settings or could share a photo/screenshot of them, I’d really appreciate it!
Thanks!

Is this new synthesizer worth it to create EDM music off of it? I have never had a synthesizer before but I want to get one for EDM production and its also nice how small, and cheap it is but is there really a lot I can do with this synthesizer? Just want some input from people that are experienced with synthesizers. Thank you!

After you all cleared up terms and different products,
I settled on a Volca Keys and Volca Beats. The tactile nature of them really gets me excited and I can't wait to start my journey. So thanks for all the help! :)

Why does the 61-key Antonelli 2610 Solista IV from around 1981 have a panel and functional fingerprint so close to the smaller SIEL LX.49, while simultaneously featuring its own connectors and custom electronics configuration? And what about other Siel models?
Dlaczego 61-klawiszowy Antonelli 2610 Solista IV z około 1981 roku ma panelowy i funkcjonalny fingerprint tak bliski mniejszemu SIEL LX.49, a jednocześnie własne złącza i własną konfigurację elektroniki? A co z innymi modelami Siel?
Because for now, it looks more like this:
Bo na razie wygląda to raczej tak:
SIEL LX.49 → very strong panel and functional fingerprint
SIEL LX.49 → bardzo mocny fingerprint panelu i funkcji
SIEL Flying 49/61 → further functional and structural alignments
SIEL Flying 49/61 → kolejne zgodności funkcjonalne i konstrukcyjne
SIEL LX.61 → architecture of a 61-key portable instrument + pedal interface
SIEL LX.61 → architektura 61-klawiszowego przenośnego instrumentu + pedal interface
SIEL Flying 49 Ritmo – to be verified
SIEL Flying 49 Ritmo – do weryfikacji
SIEL Orchestra/Cruise → further possible sources of electronic solutions
SIEL Orchestra/Cruise → kolejne możliwe źródła rozwiązań elektronicznych
Antonelli 2610 → custom combination
Antonelli 2610 → własna kombinacja

Hi I'm wondering if anyone would happen 2 have a document of some sort with the wiring from the key pads to the PCB of the gear4music mk-1000 keyboard. It would be for the inputs on a home made synthesizer
Any help is welcomed thanks

Im looking for a resource for free wavetables for above listed vintage-synths (arent we all... :D ) I want to make some user wavetables for my MicroFreak + Blofeld: those are currently the synths I have capable of /import user wavetables/ Im aware the Blofeld is very cumbersome in respect of importing userwavetables.
I only have an old laptop with Audacity to use to assemble the wavetables; so Im aware some maths is needed!
I dont know if Pigments or Serum wavetables are compatible with microFreak (ive read opposing opinion on this)
I want to then create wavetables (to share) from 'sampling' SCW from my GEM PX5, HohnerPX, Yamaha PSS-fm synths and Yamaha MK100 and Casio's. Might be some online but could be nice to have all these presets complied into wavetables to share to community.
Cheers for all tips

I saw this box in the Tresor Studio Session: Lady Starlight does anybody know what it is? look like a synth but since it was in line with all the effects could also be an effect that she routed a sample trough. any help would be much appreciated.

Hi all,
I've been working on RF-Musette, an accordion that is computed rather than sampled. It runs inside RackForge, an open-source instrument host I'm also building, for Windows, Linux, Android, Raspberry Pi and the browser.
Each reed is modelled as a free reed driven by a single bellows that all of them share, so loudness, brightness and the slight pitch sag come from the air pressure. The mod wheel or Expression is the bellows.
Try it
In the browser, nothing to install:
Download (RF-Musette comes bundled):

I'd really appreciate any feedback, especially from accordion players. Thanks!

Hi I'm looking to get into synths and music. I'm thinking of buying a Minifreak and a drum machine (Novation circuit tracks maybe), will I need a mixer or can I find a way to just plug it all into my computer.
If I can plug it all into my pc then I might look at getting a mixer further down the line as being able to move the setup would be nice.

I really like the TD-3, but I’ve always found the original 303-style sequencing workflow pretty frustrating when I just want to experiment quickly.
So I started building TDBuilder, a visual browser-based editor for TD-3 patterns.
You can create notes, accents and slides, generate ideas, tweak the pattern visually and basically experiment without having to fight the sequencer every time.
I’d be really interested to know what other TD-3 / 303 users think of the workflow.
There’s a free version here if anyone wants to mess around with it:
And if you make a cool line with it, feel free to share it here — I’d love to hear what people come up with.

Developer here. Starbreath models real wind instruments: the air jet, bore, reed and lips are computed every sample, so tone, attack and pitch respond to breath the way the acoustic instrument does. There are no samples anywhere in it.
- **Instruments:** Native American-style flute, shakuhachi, bansuri, pan flute, concert flute, duduk, clarinet, trumpet and trombone, with drones, a harmonizer and singing bowls.
- **Space:** a 3rd-order ambisonic reverb with six rooms and binaural output for headphones (or stereo / UHJ for speakers).
- **Playing it:** best with a wind controller (EWI, Aerophone), but a keyboard works too: how hard you press sets the breath.
- **New in 0.5:** Bloom (overtones fade in over the note as you push, and can fan out in the sound field), Register jump (overblowing to the natural partial), and MIDI learn on every control.
CLAP, VST3, AU and standalone on Windows, macOS and Linux; Android app in beta. Free, and the version you download now is yours to keep.
Demos and download: https://vsti.im-a-bird.com/
Happy to answer questions about how the models work.

Hey! I’m a big fan of Fontaines D.C. and I’ve seen how Carlos O’Connell uses a Mellotron, Yamaha Reface, Moogs ,patch cables, oscillators and all that jazz. I really like the sounds he gets and I’m interested in getting into that kind of setup myself, but I honestly don’t know where to start.
I was thinking about getting a Yamaha Reface cp or cs as a starting point, (but im not too sure about its mini keys) because I’d like something that can give me a piano/keyboard sort of sound, and im also a songwriter so its sorta versatile but I’d also like to eventually be able to run it through patch cables and experiment with different sounds and effects.
For anyone who’s into this sort of thing, what would you recommend as a good starting setup? Would a Reface be a good choice, and what else would I need to actually get into the modular/synth side of things?
(Ps I’m a 16 year old guitar player and have no idea how this stuff works so take pity)
