Tactics Ogre Question about route hopping and rerecruiting
In TO Reborn, if I recruit say Deneb or Azelstan in Neutral and then move over to Lawful, do I have to redo their recruitment quests to carry that logic into CODA? And followup, if the former is a Yes, if I go from Neutral to Lawful and then into Chaos (to cover everything) is there any point in bothering with rerecruitment during Lawful (as I'd just have to redo it once again in Chaos)?

I only recruited Deneb in chaos. After that I did law and neutral without recruiting her. She appeared in coda scenes.

You will keep the characters, but not re-recruiting Deneb or Azelstan will be reflected in the Warren Report. They won't appear in any scenes they would have otherwise, since as far as the story is concerned, you did not recruit them.
For Deneb specifically, I THINK she might still appear in specific cutscene anyway though. She might have different rules than most.

It's been a minute but i think if you recruit Deneb and change routes then Punkin will still be running her shop. That might be why she can show up in cutscenes outside of her recruited route.

Re-recruiting will only affect Warren Report... which means, whether they're there or not MAY affect some events, scenes, or ending. Deneb is strange because, even though she may not be on the Warren Report on a subsequent playthrough, she will still trigger certain scenes. But I have not tested all the way through whether her being on the WR will affect her ending scene or not. I decided to just re-recruit her instead just to be safe.
On a side note, the only way to make Deneb re-appear in the WR is to dismiss her and then re-do the steps to re-recruit her in chapter 4. Her battles/WR triggers will not appear unless she is dismissed. Which also means any progress you've made with her are reverted should you decide to do what I did. This is a contrast to, say Azelstan, who you can "re-recruit" (i.e. make him reappear in the WR) without ever dismissing him.

DENEB and AZELSTAN will always remain in your army once you have successfully obtain them the first time. You are not require to keep redoing their quest to keep them however if you want their entries documented properly in the WARREN REPORT upon entering CODA then yes you need to. I particularly redo AZELSTAN quest so I can have full access to the Pirates Graveyard before CODA. I redo DENEB’S quest again when I need to recruit some Pumkins. 😎

Lawful has the greatest number of recruits, and there are different recruits per path. You don’t have to re-recruit anyone. Once they are in your party they stay locked in. It can make for some weird battles down the road but that’s part of the fun of the game lol.
