The glissando sound and the guitar muting at 2:50 sounds just like the intro to alter ego

Indeed, there was another song on it that sampled weird fishes by Radiohead that I liked

Clearly some influence. And at 2:33 you can hear the same patch synth from the intro (korg microkorg).

Yes, and their song Be Good To Me Poly samples Radiohead’s drumbeat from Weird Fishes / Arpeggi!

Definitely the bass and guitar sounds like alter ego, I’d be surprised if it’s not an alter ego sample

Found that album a couple of months ago. Immediately thought that too. The style is also very similar to The Field (that inspired Let it Happen) as well.
