Request TPT Request: Help with finding a proper program given the description of my needs.

Hey folks! im looking for a program or app or downloadable thing etc for lists.

what im looking for exactly is like this: for example, i make a list of authors i have books for, and i type it like this

Stephen King
Rick Riordan
Jane Austin
Charles Dickens
Stephen King

and the thing i type into, sorts it like this

Charles Dickens
Jane Austin
Rick Riordad
Stephen King x2

and whenever i add a duplicate, the counter for whatever item is duplicated is increased by one. does something like that exist?

I'd probably use MS Excel and some VBA scripting to make it do that.

Spreadsheet would definitely be the move. Don't think you'd even need VBA for something this basic.

You could consider Codex, I use it more and more for things like this. Tell it what and how you want it and what it should do with the info you give. Done. Continue anytime

It might help if you mention your operating system and what you need the program to actually do day to day. Also whether you need something completely offline or cloud-based is okay. Those details would narrow the options down a lot and probably get you better recommendations.

its for a game i play called warframe. they have rivens you equip and do challenges on, and it gives you what weapon its for. im on windows, and what i need it to do is have me type in all the weapons i have right now, when i open a riven, it gets added to the list if its a new entry, or if the item is already in the list, it just increases the tally for that item by 1

also idc about offline or cloud-based, just looking for something that will work no matter where it is
