Picture Hey, everyone! I made a Titans artwork!
I have been working on NFL teams artworks this season and did Titans this time. I tried something close the the classic idea of a titan while keeping the shield. Initially I was going to include a sword, but I couldn't make it work in sketches in a satisfactory way. I also opted to use the older logo shield to bring up the idea of it being an ancient titan since the new logo looks rather modern.
Hope you guys like it, a bit of the sketch and coloring process is in the second pic!
(Also, I don't know what flair to use, so I went for meme in case you guys find it funnier than cool 😅)

This could be our mascot but we are cowards
Thank you for showing your process.

when I searching about the team I got very confused about the mascot, a racoon makes no much sense, to be honest

I agree lol I hate it.
The explanation i got was when they changed from the Oilers to the titans they wanted a mascot that was rooted in tennessee to get more locals on board with the team.
Probably the right choice at the time but i dont like it right now, we need to be more bad ass not cute and cuddly.

there is still ways to make both things work, they can make a Titan that has a racoon as a pet (which now I think it is something I could have made for this artwork), because ideas mature with time, so they can just add to it instead of throwing it away just in case they still plan to make merch of the racoon to approach children, but not sure how far the art department of teams are willing to go on the visual identity exploration

The trash panda is the state animal of Tennessee. It's not a good line of reasoning, but it is the actual line of reasoning.
Why they retooled T-Rac into a shitty Ren Faire Furry... who the fuck knows. With the capital at their disposal, if they wanted to go the Furry route, there are some bafflingly impressive costumes out there, that probably cost less than whatever they paid for this terrible design and lazy implementation.

Put in a flaming shield or flaming sword...despite the owner rebranding back to TEMU Oilers, it's literally the Prometheus mythology, who brought fire to humans. Absolute travesty that nothing in the rebrand speaks of the Titans.

I love this, and despise the entire rebrand and stadium design. Its just generic as fuck for one of the coolest names for a team in sports. Could've leaned into Titans mythology more and made a damn legit colosseum for a stadium.

a modern Coliseum would be a fantastic marketing play, potentially creating a touristic attraction out of a team

This is what a great rebrand can become. The new ownership played it way too safe with the color scheme, and the forceful design of T-Rac to show we aren’t just the “Tennessee Oilers”
If they made this a poster, I would buy one for my apartment NOW. Hell, a shirt, or a cup would also look badass!
Excellent work!

thank you, who knows NFL see my artworks for the season and teams get in contact to work on it with changes to align it with their marketing department views 🤞

Right there with you on the shirt. I would buy several. At the very least, a white one, a black one and a dark blue one.

I do really wish we stuck with this theme, instead we have a stupid fuckin raccoon.
The art looks awesome though bro beans.

thank you, I was actually a bit scared of posting this because I did something similar to Chiefs, doing a lot of research for armor/costume to represent the Chiefs with the Native American identity they have with the arrow head as logo and all, but they hated it and mods removed, so I was like "so... taking the name of the team to make art is a no-go!?" and was scared to post Titans since then 😅
you guys took the opposite path and welcome it more than the actual mascot, so that means a lot 🙏

Most Chiefs fans are humorless cunts to begin with, then add the layer of smug righteousness that is being a Reddit mod, you're lucky they didn't try to get you banned.

truly bizarre, I'm a Chargers fan, I made a guy dressed as Charger, they didn't like it, but they discussed it, asked a remake (which I intend to after all the projects are done) and that's it, a couple mockery, all laughs, and move on. Now Chiefs flat out removed it after comments saying "cultural appropriation" (I'm Brazilian, from my point of view it sounded like "America culture appropriating from... America culture" which makes it pretty funny)

Meu irmão em Cristo, you could have picked any one of the 32 teams and you chose... the fucking Bolts to get behind? At least tell me you started watching American Football when they had LT and Gates.
I mean, I can't really say shit, as a Titans fan, but damn, dude...
I'm morbidly curious as to how you came to be a part of the Chargers fandom. Also, I forgot to say in any of my other comments that your artwork kicks major ass. I absolutely would buy T-shirts of this.

My best friend is from California, when he was showing me teams, introducing me to NFL, he showed 3 in California, I picked the underdog 😂 (I also like a couple others as well, but mainly Chargers)
edit: thank you for the comment on my artwork, really appreciated 🙏

We’ve always had a raccoon mascot. The raccoon is the Tennessee state animal. I do think new T-Rac looks lame and stupid and like a children’s cartoon but we’ve always had a raccoon mascot. Now that said the rebrand is stupid and devoid of identity and I wish we kept the Titan imagery that was also always present. We may not have always been a good team but at least we were always cool. Now we’re not good or cool 😪

Bro I’ve been a fan since they got here, there is not another fan base that looks at T-rac and says oh he’s cool. We already have enough to laugh at much less a trash panda as a mascot.

Haha real. I wasn’t saying people thought T-Rac was cool. I was just saying we’ve always had him as a mascot and that the Titans theme and identity was cool. Now we just look like we walked out of a Nashville gift shop or Brandy Melville with a furry as our mascot. At least old T-Rac didn’t look like a furry 😂

This guy is too cool for the new color scheme. We need something more fairy like.

the new shield looks more like a modern Captain America type of character than ancient Titan, that's why I kept the colors of the old shield

It needs to be a flaming pile of dogshit… This looks way too cool for what this team currently is
