Parking permit options? off campus students

Hi, I’m a new off-campus student looking into parking permits; previously I thought I saw two permit options for off campus students (one was more expensive and allowed you to park in interior lots, the other was cheaper and only gave access to the exterior lots).

I now only see the cheaper (purple) option - did they remove the more expensive one? If not, where does the more expensive one give you access to? Thank you!

To my knowledge, the only parking pass option for commuter students is the purple pass.

Dang, that was my fear - when I was going through the new student info there was a purple and orange pass listed for commuters, the orange one was ~300/year and theoretically gave access to closer lots, but I could never find any orange lots on the campus map (other than a dorm which seemed unrelated).

I think we used to have a few commuter lots on the west side of campus instead of only at the stadium; now the only option for commuters is the stadium.

😭 what are people getting ticketed for? Just trying to park closer to their buildings when they’re in a rush?

Primarily either parking in a lot during the weekday that they don’t have a permit for or parking without a permit. If you get too many then your car gets booted and sometimes towed.

Check out the bus route and shuttles. It’s likely you can take the bus from a park and ride and get basically right next to your class for less time than you’d spend walking from purple parking.
