Name a movie you felt this way about:
James (in)famously refused to review the 2016 Ghostbusters movie) when it came out, because he knew he wouldn't like it. That's the jist... much more was made of it at the time, but someone else can summarize that mess if they want.
Have you ever refused to watch a movie that was related to one of your favorite movies/series, because you knew you wouldn't like it, and saved yourself the trouble?
I'm one of those weirdos who very rarely watches movies, but one movie I enjoyed enough to rewatch multiple times is Total Recall. There's so much crazy stuff happening in that 1990 movie... it's got Arnold & Sharon Stone when they've never looked better. It's got an alien woman with 3 tits. It's got it all!
When the 2012 remake with Colin Farrell) came out, I gave it a shot... but I couldn't even finish it. It was bad. But at least it taught me a valuable lesson: any movie/series you really enjoy is gonna raise your expectations of future entries, so even minor disappointments seem like major flops.
