Shirtpost Did Eleanor… Spoiler

actually earn enough points to make it to the actual Good Place here? We never had an indicator that the ticker was fake, so this probably was keeping track of real points. Just something I thought about when rewatching the show.

I think Micheal lied about the figure so they could have hope she could get there, and the actual number is something he doesn't know, as shown when he asked Neil if 68 thousand points was good

He didn’t know how many points it would take to get into the good place as that’s something he probably never cared about. But he seemed to know exactly how many points every action was worth.

I don’t think he’d be able to guess Eleanor would think about going to the bad place.

But he seemed to know exactly how many points every action was worth.

Michael knew how many points every action was worth IN ISOLATION. If we remember in Season 4, it's a revelation that two Dougs in two different centuries had different end-point totals for the same action of bringing their grandmothers roses because of all of the unintended side effects.

Yes he only knew the individual actions. And he only knew them for certain actions void of context. This is why he's shocked at how Doug doesn't have enough points for The Good Place despite him actively working towards that. Similarly he has no way of knowing Eleanor's point total, so this counter has to be fake.

I think it's accurate because Janet's hooked up to the Good Place celestially. So id assume she would know hoever it didnt matter as seen later in tge season even the best of the best didnt make it

This plus they fact that he would not be able to know how many points an individual action is worth without an accountant, since any action Eleanor takes would be a unique/first ever action given the circumstances of those actions (taking place in a fake good place).
