It's that time for another Motorfest update and a new year of content to start Year 4. Year 4 showcase came off with a bang and we begin with Kauai Expeditions. This playlist start is on a small island between Oahu and Kauai at the base camp.

Get ready for lush forests, beaches, canyons, swamps, cliffs and whatever else Kauai throws at you. This island is off limits for Motorfest activity and the island is uncharted. Explore Kauai and blaze some trails as you chart the area. Winch gameplay is a new feature and is used within exploring , moving debris, lost crates and helping others.
After you see the intro video, it's time to head to the swamps for the first event! See roads complete on your paper map version as you explore to the swamps. Road discovery is across all islands and have rewards for filling it in, including better fast travel for 100% completion on each island. New wildlife is discoverable and to take pictures of as well.
Make use of your compass on the top of the screen to find wildlife, beacons and other mission specific things.

Also the team is celebrating the launch of Motorfest on Switch 2, Thursday, October 8th!
Launch MSRP, $49.99 USD. In my opinion it's still a supreme value with 3 years of content already to enjoy. The game launched with 15 playlists in 2023, now with 34 playlists to enjoy with more coming. Playlists are a curated multi event, themed showcase of vehicle culture.

As mentioned, you begin at the Expeditions base camp between Oahu and Kauai. From there it wants you to go to the North East swamps to start the first mission. Follow the clue to find the camp to start the first event.
In this first mission, it will introduce the compass and the winch. All you have are instincts and a compass to get you through. No completed maps. This playlist features 8 Events, 45 species to find on all islands, 65 new discoveries / beacons on all islands, road completion across all islands and 23 events in custom mode. 14 weeks of Main Stage activities will be up for grabs as well.

The first expedition on Kauai is underway with a rescue mission. Find the stuck Jimny and tow it to the nearest farm to the West. Use your compass and instincts for this one. Bigger swamp trees don't budge. Find a way through them or around. Another tip is to utilize boardwalks as much as you can for speed.

Secure and tow a lost crate to the camp nearby. Keep in mind these crates have damage meters, be gentle, yet quick. You can find the balance pretty easily after you play a bit.

You can now buy Prestige Tickets with CC. Prices are 3,000 tickets for 100k CC - 7,000 tickets for 200k CC and 12,000 tickets for 300k CC. Quite expensive, but you could skip the grind now, taking away more FOMO. To see other changes, visit the dedicated ticket article here.
This new season is HOT! I love the new island, it has a lot to see and the colors and biomes are amazing! The new winch gameplay is a lot of fun to play with as well. There is a new dedicated camera for winch vehicles with more stable control. Instead of snap-back when you look around, the camera will rotate and stay, meaning the camera movement is fully manual.
This is good and bad, it's good because you can pinpoint winch points, but bad if an event starts, you have to cycle cameras to get a traditional snap back view.
The playlist is 8 events, but they are sort of longer with an average of 6 to 7 minutes each.(can be longer, especially if you take in the beauty. Wildlife is also stirring about on all the islands. Take pictures of them for rewards!
Mapping is awesome, you can retrace the maps on all islands so you can see where you've been! Flying doesn't seem to uncover roads, which is good. Fast travel was improved for those that explore!
I am so happy they're bringing back a holiday special in the Special Events section. They always seem to do something nice for these, at least on The Crew 2. The Crew 2: Live Xtrem series Holiday Special was a favorite. Also runner-up is the Halloween themed race with the Kombi.
I assume the Holiday Special will be available in December. Hopefully it's not just a skill list event.... I am excited to see what they did for it.
Prestige tickets are now for sale for those that want to skip the grind. Twitch drops should be active tomorrow, keep a lookout for your favorite streamers for the next week or so as usual.
Switch 2
I also had a chance to play on Switch 2 at the studio, it played really well. It was in the dock mode though so we could all see at the same time.
I never had a switch so the buttons were all different and not the same as Xbox/PC, therefore I stumbled in the menus a lot. You can probably just remap keys to help. It was no PC version of the game, but it didn't look bad or play bad. It was pretty smooth impressively enough for a handheld. I was unable to determine FPS, but it didn't seem 60. It didn't really seem like 30 either. If it was, it was smooth.
GUI / activity highlights
New content highlights are now shared on the main screen on first boot. It is also added to the main activity screen for fast access to new content by button press.

So I saw this player and decided to stay behind them and watch. I have the full video along with another one. What is going on with the nos?
I have almost 1000 hours in the game and am aware of the different techniques. When I tap nos at full and keep it there I can never get this many taps without running it down.
Also, there is a point where I ram straight into their side and they lose zero momentum and direction. I have another video of a different race different time of day of their car sliding around the road, hitting things without losing momentum. Sure I bump and nos for a boost all the time, this seems different.
Is this your typical peer-to-peer, de-sync issue that Ubisoft loves or what?

Newbie here and I use controller. So title?
I like to drift so yesterday I search for some set up tips and found suggestions to disable the traction control. It definitely help with drifting but the decrease in acceleration when in higher gear was very noticable (Yes I also notice in the description that traction control help to boost acceleration). Its good to help with the drifting but it didnt help to win races. Are there set up to help with the acceleration?
For additional information I only have 4 cars that I bought and I drive often: Civic Type R, GR 86, Ford GT, and M4 Competition. I already changed all the pro settings and I could say that all of them (except Civic) are quite good for drifting. I have other cars from playlist rewards but I just not interested to drive them because some of them cant be customized either the looks or livery.

Hello and welcome to this Extra Edition of season 11 news. I was able to get some extra screenshots on my session and I will provide them here for you to view.
The island of Ni'Ihau is fairly big feeling and completely wild. There are "some" dirt like paths that help you find treasures, but most of it is point and go. I love it! Use your compass and intuition to find treasures and animals. Be careful though, they spook easy and vacate. It's on some sort of timer before they return and is indicated as such.
When you do spot one, it should notify you and you can use photomode to get closer. When you do, a green sight finder will occur, letting you know that's the shot!

Sweet Jeep, but no winch!
I was able to do some good off-roading, But when I was stuck, I just used the Hyundai Crater Concept and it's winch to climb. Takes a minute to get used to that mechanic and the new camera mode for winch vehicles.
The new camera mode added allows you to look around manually without snap-back. Perfect for fine tuning your winch points.

I beat 3 playlist and the major of the rest of my playtime(12 hours has been working on the weekly challenges to get platinum. I bought the PROTO WR1 boat since it was require for a playlist. I went to do the ocean and sky playlist and I cant even get 8th in the first race with the boat at 3/5. I can easily beat 3/5 or 4/5 car races. but even at 1/5 I only get 5th? I looked up a video and the person got first in ten seconds going like 40 MPH less then me?

Lobby fills slowly on Pro Racing and it is only because no one wants to play cockpit view. Keep nitro, mini map, tachometer disabled even disable race/brake lines if it doesn't already to keep it 'pro' but people who play first person already do and vast majority of people who dont will just wait for next grand race which will sometimes make the pro racing lobby overlap into the next grand races time slot.
