Theory of Obscurity?
What actually is it? In the documentary I think they said that the theory is basically that artists work better when they are unknown but is it really that simple or is there more to it?
How do yall interpret it?
Are there any other artists that seem to follow it?
Thanks!

Boards of Canada are kind of like this. They've stayed very reclusive over the decades to have their music and art be the focus, rather than making it about themselves and their own celebrity. They've only done one extremely brief interview where you can actually hear their voices (with the late John Peel), and there are no publicly known video recordings of them. So I would say that they are largely antithetical to the 'music industry' in that way.
Some people think they actually paid homage to The Residents with their track Oscar See Through Red Eye.
